Very nice playing and that Princeton sounds awesome. I hope to find one someday. Currently I use my Rivera era Super Champ and Concert amps along with a vintage Vibro Champ. I love the classic Fender sound! Anyway, Thanks for posting and that amp is a keeper!

I have my 1966 non-reverb Princeton. Very different beast - clean tones all the way to 10, and just gorgeous, perfectly balanced tone. I noticed on the couple of your videos I just watched that you seem to lean toward clean settings on your amps, so if you ever get to play a non-reverb model you should definitely try it out.

Got a ‘68 non-reverb Princeton (drip edge, lines, and I’m told it’s mostly ‘67 specs). Also clean all the way to 10 and it’s the lushest dry tone

Really nice! I have a ‘64 which I was only able to afford because it’s sort of a chopper (non original “12 speaker, 3-prong orange construction cable 😂). By far my most used amp. Oh and had to edit to add…my favorite guitar with it is my 64 SG chopper, coincidentally! Favorite boost? The Nobels ODR-1!! Great minds

You changed the speaker, that changes everything, that's what makes the majority of the sound so it's not surprising that it sounds good now

Vintage iron is alot of the mojo.especially the output trans.i bought a hw replica of a 64 deluxe the guy that built it put a 30 watt power trans in it.i found a real 64 output trans for it and its bad ass.the extra 10 watts helps the amp breathe and the vintage output trans made it into one of my favorites.i have a 66 super reverb and a 64 bassman for comparison and its there with them.great video and playing.

Enjoyed this video, Thanks. I have a clone Princeton Reverb & have been tweaking & tinkering with while managing to not quite yet kill myself by the caps discharge. It sounds great so far. I have a, perhaps mad, suggestion to Fender & other companies regarding date markings: For example, instead of 'P' being 1966 & 'E' being May, how about, now bear with me here, perhaps just have '1966' (or '66) being 1966 & 'May' being May? Too crazy-whacky-crazy? Obviously so.

A Princeton Reverb is too small , a Vibrolux Reverb is too big , a Super Reverb is way too big , a Deluxe Reverb is just right but I'll still take one of each . Er , ah , make that two of each .

The WGS sounds absolutely amazing, haven’t thought smooth cone speaker would work this well with the blackface Princeton Reverb. Are you using all JJ tubes in the amp?

No disrespect meant, but that just sounds like the kind of honky/mid heavy mess I was getting from mine, in fact worse because of the humbuckers, not a very versatile sound and led me to move on and try different Fenders.

I grew up on a PR in the 1960's. FYI the Eminence 1028K alnico speaker sounds the most authentic; it's great in vintage PR's. WG speakers sound great too, but the 1028K is the most authentic sounding. If I could only own one amp it'd definitely be a vintage BF PR. The 1970's SF PR's (non-master volume) are also great. Sorry, but the reissues PR's are truly NOT as good. Save your $$$ and get the real thing.
