Good year Dylan! Funny I heard the same about Squier Sonic series and was impressed by even some of the other higher end Squierseries guitars at GC. They must still be doing something right. Also, am big fan of many of the Inspired by Epiphone series guitars still as well and own several now. May the New Year's treat you and yours even better. I did buy some guitars this year but my favorite new gear is either the Smoothie in a Jacson JS 22 the DAF in the Ibanez as 73 semi hollow.

My favorite guitar gear this year would be the Strat-o-sonic. The Boss IR-2 would likely be a contender, but it looks like I won’t get my hands on one until next year. I’ve been tempted to get one of those Sonic series Esquires and adding a switch for single-coil, both coils in series, and both coils in parallel. But there are other guitars on my to-buy list that should be higher priority.

i am happy with my squire 40 th anni vintage strat ( sonic blue ) i bought this year , great guitar for not to much money ( 357 euro ) , thomann is still selling them for 298 euro btw , i also sold 5 guitars and a tube amp this year and now have 1 electric ( the squire strat ) and 1 acoustic ( LAG framontane ) left , wich is enough for me to be able to perform my hobby at home . I kept my fender tm dr amp because it's a great practical amp for home and stage ( if i ever want to play in a band again ) , also kept my pedalboard so now i am done spending money on guitargear , period !

Tonex Pedal is my winner. And I don't even own one. I'm surprised you didn't mention yours. So many great amp sounds available stock (plus all the third party downloads) and the cool software bundle for $400. I'm very happy with my Helix LT, so no need to buy one, but if the Helix died, the Tonex would be on my short list.

It was between the McCready and the ultra luxe stratocaster, perhaps if it was in stock I might have pulled the trigger on the McCready. The ultra luxe was on sale so I grabbed it. Still waiting on arrival.

Who would think a copy of an old Strat would be in your list, they built them long before 2023...it's just a copy of a standard battered Strat for how many grand ?...it sounds the same as all modern built Strat's nowadays as the QC has gone up, for a price...nice expensive wall decoration...i made an SRV relic'd guitar from a standard USA Strat...everyone says it sounds amazing as they think it's a Custom Shop SRV Signature Strat... lol...but it's just an aged/relic'd USA standard Strat...even if it looks & sounds, according to guitarists i know, 45years old.....lol...their's a lesson in their...our eyes can fool our ears.....

The other lesson is… I really like this guitar and there are people that seem to make it their mission in life to steal the joy of others. Fortunately…. I don’t care because this guitar is awesome.
