Jake, I got the nickel XVive & it's fabulous. Even though the manual states not compatible with active pups, they worked fine with my EMGs on my ESP LTD White Zombie. I even walked the ESP from the bedroom to the front yard & the blue LED on the receiver was just starting to blink. They also didn't interfere with the Bluetooth to my cell phone using my JBL EON208P PA System that I was playing my Ibanez classical/electric through...I can't wait to get the XVive for microphones!

There was definitely more definition in B. It’s impressive that they’re as close as they were but you can still tell a small difference. On stage though you won’t notice a huge difference.

I use a wired system and I am trying to learn to record on my own. This seems like something nice to jam out with just like you said but not necessarily for recording. For your next video could you do a run down on what you use to record (type of DI box) and your Axe FX and how it all works with your computer? Id like to get ideas on how I can better my sound from simply JUST a scarlett interface plugged directly into my mac!

start on learning how to read tabulature and just get comfortable with picking notes very slowly

Start by learning to tune the guitar, then learn scales in a horizontal way, grab a backing track, and pick 3 or 4 notes of the scale you learned (specially 1st-3rd-5th and 7h) to get familiar with the sound of the notes, and how they work with progressions. Learn one chord everyday.

Also, I believe that it may have cut out due to you using The 81, or whatever the active pickup it is. Cheaper Wireless cut out if you use active pickups, I have had many troubles with wireless when I am using active pickups, but not as much of an issue with passives.

NUX wireless when I'm just walking around my place/sitting other places than at my amp, whenever I'm at the amp I change to cable, having a wireless in home is great if you want the ability to play in multiple places of your home without having a long cable causing noise or crackles, most of the time I'm on a cable at the amp/speakers.

I think if you are testing for tone it would be good if you also plugged straight into a tube amplifier rather than use a digital amp and then record the sound to playback. I have an Axe-fx and lots of tube amps. Once you turn the guitar tone into digital one's and zero's you are into another dimension of tone like apples and oranges. Maybe this wireless device works less or more effectively on digital than analog.

Honestly, I don't see why you wouldn't tour with the Xvive's; I've had my original pair for 3 years now, and they have not failed me anywhere. Now, I avoid cables when practicing, rehearsing, live sessions, and/or on stage. IMHO cables seem awkward, and limit your motion wherever you're playing. These little guys are a no brainer for simplicity of use, quality of sound, and for their small size. Peace. P.S. I play six-string basses, mostly.

I heard it right away, where it cut out, I knew which it was -- before you said which was which. That's disappointing. Thank you for this video. I was going to get this, but now I'm not so sure. I don't see why it would drop out, where the sender and receiver are THAT close to one another. That tells me that there's some serious interference going on here...not sure what spectrum these things use, but it would be nice for it to be able to tune itself to avoid any interference, or maybe have a close range mode, where it can use a much higher frequency, a frequency that won't go through walls or go a long distance BUT will always hit the mark so long as there's line of sight and they're in close proximity to each other.
@5urg3x
@5urg3x 6 жыл бұрын
Read the specs, this system uses the 2.4 Ghz spectrum -- yeah, that's NOT a good idea. That spectrum is ALREADY RIDICULOUSLY overcrowded with WiFi & bluetooth signals. There's gotta be a better way to do this.

RE: the recharging batteries thing -- I don't think that's a good idea tbh. Eventually those batteries are going to crap the bed. And it will be difficult to get new ones, unless they're some kind of standard form factor lithium ion batteries. Much better just to get a device that uses standard form factor batteries and purchase some Eneloops (or similar) with a good charger. I've had Eneloop batteries in my Apple wireless keyboard, mouse and trackpad for over 10 years and they're still chugging along just great. I've not noticed any diminished performance whatsoever; I'm sure there is like maybe 5-10% less charge compared to when they were new, but that's nothing in terms of real world performance that you would notice.
@fredd036

Bruh, in order to test tone, you need to play clean through an amp like it would be on stage. Playing with distortion is fine, but you should definitely play without it in order to know exactly the differences

i get a pretty killer tone out of the rig though, kind of stuck in a rut with tone as the ironheart at the moment is the only amp that will nail the tone live that we get in the studio, though if you heard the single, likely youd definitely say AXEFX for sure.
