Great lesson from an expert guitarist, and what a very good teaching approach. “You are my sunshine” is a brilliant jazz standard and I would love to be able to play it in this style. Nice to see the man who played with Martin Taylor on his 90’s albums “Spirit of Django”

John Goldie is obviously a great guitar player and I am pleased that he mentioned Chet Atkins - my guitar hero.

Top guitarist. Experienced his playing and coaching at workshops during this year’s Ullapool Guitar Festival. Fantastic and down to earth with it.

Hi Tony, I hope you read this. As soon as I saw the name John Goldie I thought “he’s from Airdrie!”. I’m a Coatbridge boy originally and , many years ago, a neighbour of mine was a singer in a group named after a pub called the Forresters Arms. Do you know if Mr Goldie ever played guitar with them? It consisted of two vocalists, one male and one female, a double bass player and a terrific guitarist.

Goldie's hands are huge...first requirement for a guitar hero.

Thanks so much brother John, your delightful playing was like pure time travel for me - pretty much echoing my own folk guitar beginnings way back in my teen years! If you have a moment to visit my channel I'd love you to hear how different my fingerstyle is now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpCqlJmYdtCYf8U Power to your fingers and big sunny smiles from Spain, amigo, Clive Davies
