I’ve got a spruce top one and a cedar top one as well. These are the nicest sounding guitars I have in my collection

Sounds great. I own another maker but it’s a maple back and sides and spruce top and love the combo and the maple looks awesome

Something incredible kind of happened with me watching this video. Since you started demonstrating the sound of this guitar i got my self thinking how much Tarrega's Pavana would sound amazing in it. I wanted so much to hear it played in this guitar and suddenly you somehow had the idea to play it too!

It is best to measure action by fretting at the first fret. Otherwise you get a false reading since the action height of the nut can influence the 12th fret action reading. As much as 0.010"! Learned that from John Gilbert early on in my lutherie career in the 1990's while at his workshop. It's more accurate.

Wow.. just wow. From the beauty of the guitar to the construction and then back to the sound just wow.. such a sweet and strong sound, it’s sure of its self. I rush right away to his webpage to see if he makes any flamenco.. my heart was broken when I saw he didn’t. Edit: just got to the part where you mention the golpeador on the top of the guitar. That’s what gave me hope that he also makes flamenco guitars lol

Beautiful guitar and wonderful sound. Fascinating soundboard design. I want to look up the thickness of the soundboard and depth of the channels, but he may not list that. Do I detect some roll off of the fullness of the 1st string around the 12th fret? Anyway, great sound and another great review. Thanks. Michael Fontenot

Im never a fan of new instrument sound qualities, but this guitar immediately reminded me of a$10,000 50 year old A1 flamenco cedar guitar , has that special kind of percussive attack , hollow wooden drum type sound from the whole instrument resonating. Im curious how light wieght this instrument is compared with a traditional classical

agree on the sound qualities, as if the note first ripens before its release

Beautiful sounding guitar. Are the upper and lower bout widths a little smaller than usual?

Well, that'll teach me for writing a comment before I listen to the entire video!!! Sorry about that - You talked at length about the 1st sting. See you soon. Michael

To be fair, Knobloch makes the warmest sounding carbon strings. It's the only carbon string I enjoy on my spruce top guitar, all others brand's carbon strings sounds waaaay too bright. It has so much volume and sustain and very forgiving on right hand techniques, it almost makes guitars sound more expensive for people that try it for the first time. But as you said the 1st string does lack some sweetness. It's the string to show off and to perform, but nylon is still better for intimate exploration of music.

Thomastik carbon are very nice as well! They are a bit thicker, more like nylon - what I love!

One will probably be „crazy“ if he/she plays this guitar in a small room. Too loud/powerful
@itstheguitarcollection13 күн бұрын
Maybe! But this guitar isn’t “overly” loud. It’s not something that is very discernible from video, actually.

Carbon strings on a carbon guitar hollows out the sound significantly.
