hows it for regular document typing? would you recommend to stay away from HE in that case?

I think regular mechanical would be more comfortable for typing. A lot of the Hall Effect experience is specifically for gaming purposes.

is this keyboard compatible with other hall effect switches? the gateron ks-20 magnetic switches in particular

I can't directly confirm this but I think the configuration tool should be good enough to make any HE switch work. You may have to confirm with NuPhy support to be sure.

What other keyboards are you comparing this to? the graphics looked rather impressive but not trustworthy as they only said "competitor" or whatever. Cannot verify those numbers and compare

i know its all subjective. but to me this is the ugliest kb ive ever seen. i was literally in the market for a keyboard JUST like this, but i cant buy something this ugly.

It's always a matter of preference at the end of the day. Changing the keycaps can totally change up the look though.
