Hmmm, i live down town Hamilton and the homeless situation is NOT getting better, is getting worse, they are completely enabled by people who think there are helping, every kind of drug is used in the open, no attempt to conceal it, in the bus stops, on the side walks, in front of the court house, the outside is an open air toilet, number 1 and number 2. Some try to help by giving food only to have most of it thrown around the side walk. Give one a banana, the peal is on the side walk, steps from the garbage. Sadly, they should not be given any money as it is used to buy drugs, I can tell, the first week of the month, extra drug use in the open. They need to learn how to parent themselves, learn basic life skills, this should be offered along with 12 step programs and free medical care. Sure most say no, does this mean they should be left to foul the public, no way. oe can issue a form one to someone trying to harm themselves so why not when slowly killing themselves with drugs, there is no difference, they need mandatory professional help, not free food and clothing which ends up all over the side walks. come and see for yourself. spend the first week of a month down town on King street between John and Hess. pros-plenty of great restaurants, very good music scene, shows at Cops for everyone, yes I know the name has changed, farmers market as mentioned but the hours suck and remain covid hours because of the lazy management the one way streets take a bit of getting used to but after a short amount of time they are the best and allow very efficient travel in the city, what a disaster to hear the city is changing them, what a major mistake
