I have tried many of these over the past few months apart from the two most expensive ones. At that levels I’ll use wired reference/studio phones. I also tried the Sony MX5 and Momentum 4. The ones I went for were the Bose Ultra for their superb NC and good overall sound. They are well made, go into a small case and the immersive audio is great for films and tracks made for spacial audio and Atmos. In the BF weekend, using a voucher my son found, they were astonishingly good value direct from Bose (£232 from Holland in 48hrs). Very happy so far.

I love my Cambridge audio p100's 🎉 I tried Bose quiet comfort ultra's but felt like they didn't sound as good as they shoulda for the price. I like the p100's better but the ANC isn't as good and comfort isn't as good but my big ears still fit well in the p100 melomania's

I remember when the Skull Candy Crushers first gen came out. They have changed so much over the years. You used to have to put a AA battery (or two I don't remember how many) inside the headphones to power the motors that create the rumble effect. If sound accuracy isn't your thing, they are definitely fun to listen to. Especially if you're into hip-hop or other bass heavy music.

I just purchased the Sonos Ace for $350 at Bestbuy I had a $100 tip I received so I paid $250 for them. I got them as a normal pair of headphones with no interest in connecting it to soundbars (don’t have any) and they blow my Beats Pros out of the water. I planned on using beats as my gym headphones and my Sonos around the house and now I can’t go back to beats 😅

Already own the PX7 S2e's since December 2023 (lovely sound, design and good comfort) and just bought the Bose Quietcomfort Headphones for €222,-. Amazing headphones. Can't beat the PX7 S2e's for sound, but still sound great to excellent! And next to the great sound, they have awesome comfort (can wear it for many hours straight) and their noisecancelling. It really is an excellent pair of headphones. Can highly recommend the Bose QC Headphones and the B&W PX7 s2e! 👌🏼

Just a note when selecting wireless headsets. My understanding is that the Samsung Galaxy S series doesn't support Apx HD, LL, or Aptx Lossless. My S23 only supports standard AAC, plain vanilla Aptx, and Sony LDAC and Samsung proprietary adaptive codec. Look at the developer options in your phone to see which codecs are supported. In other words, if you are looking for 24/92 and the best rendering of your music with wireless headphones, you are stuck with LDAC, that many headphones don't support like the Bose, B&W, and popular others. For gaming, no low latency Aptx supported. iPhone has similar propietary CODECs. Check before you press the trigger for a new wireless headset.

I tested Bose QC Ultra and Sony XM5. I loved the Bose for it‘s fantastic ANC and their collapsability. BUT the white noise was just too much for me. I kept the Sony and I‘m happy to have an even longer battery life and an ANC that doesn‘t make any noise itself. And I love the color (dusty pink) 😅.

I read somewhere that the Bathys sound their best with ANC on, and somehow take a sound quality hit when turned off. This didn't make sense to me but I'm curious if that's true. I want a pair so bad but don't tend to care about ANC at all.

Essentially everything that Apple Music offers that’s not the air pods max or beats. I'm a bass head, so I bought the Skullcandy ANC 2, I love the vibration in these fun headphones. I bought the Sony ULT Wear headphones great clean bass. My latest pair I bought two weeks ago are the NWM One wireless open ear headphones, bass is okay not on the level with the two mentioned above...amazing.😄

I was honestly amazed by the sound quality of Bowers & Wikins when i tried them in their shop in Duvai last year ...I concur with what you said that it is mainly focusing on sound rather than noise cancellation as it is mainly for sound and music production industry ..they are really great ... but when it comes to noise cancellation ..BOSE is the BOSS in this category . but again , personally speaking i would go got Bowers & Wilkins as my primary focus is the quality of sound .

I bought the Beats Studio Pro and I love them. They sound great, they are comfortable, excellent noise cancelling, lossless audio through USB, and a great case. They were less than $200 on sale at Amazon.

@ Mostly they go around my ears. They touch a bit, but the cups are very soft so it is not an issue. They are fine for the gym.

Thanks. Your reviews of the previous videos helped me choose my PX7 S2e. Couldn't be better at that price point. Sound quality and build material quality are excellent. The noise cancellation isn't that great, but it makes up for it in sound quality for any type of music. Another thing that impressed me was the quality of phone calls. Almost as good and clear as the Airpod Max

I love the Sonos Ace. They are so well made and comfortable. Sound nice and the ANC is good. The Sonos app issues don’t really affect the Ace, not any worse than the Bose app anyway. But yes, the case has an annoying zip and is slightly too small. I also really like the Bose QC 2023. They do everything well.

I love the Sonos Ace. They are so well made and comfortable. I love the content key and buttons. Sound nice and the ANC is good. But yes, the case has an annoying zip and is slightly too small. I also really like the Bose QC 2023. They do everything well. Proper buttons. They are the best all rounders. The QC Ultras were rattly, have touch controls which are awkward, and had more app issues. So that’s why I prefer the regular ones

PX8 are my favorite wireless this year. As a close second I have Bose Ultra. Always buy them when they go on sale. Focal Bathys and Bang & Olufsen H95 are probably the best right now.

i have the b&o h95 - honestly game changer. the feel quality, 10/10. HOWEVER, it IS heavy. you do notice it later in the day, also a bit anxious when wearing outside. I did also buy sony xm5 for more convenience day to day and they are the best all round!

@@Marian1st. yes - well for me h95 is loud when turned up, although i don't fully listen to music super loudly but you get the drift. I cannot say anything, everything is just perfect - battery, build, sound. Just the heaviness of it is the only disadvantage but i guess that's the use of the metals! just adore it. Yes Bose is solid too IMO i did purchase bose and sony, for me, sony won it as its super light, comfy, love the design, sound and NC. but still solid choices.

sorry if this sounds like i'm nitpicking, but this type of review sadly doesn't help me a lot. saying "these sound great" or "these are comfortable" without comparing between them is i think a bit of a blank statement. i think if you could rank them in order, or give some sort of score for battery life, sound, comfort, features etc. that'd help me understand more what you're going for. for example how much better sounding are the Bowers & Wilkins over the Focus A5 for you? is the B&W sound a 10 and Focus A5 are a 7? or are they a 3? (not really asking, just giving an example). also if you could mention the mic, or better yet, let us hear a short sample of you speaking through the mic of the headset that'd also be nice. since these are on-the-go headphones, phone calls or even work meetings aren't too foreign of an occurance for the use-case of these types of headphones IMO. i do really like your editing and B-roll. the funny faces you make for the footage gives it a lot of personality, i like it a lot.

Thanks for the kind words. The challenge here is that if we implemented your suggestions (which absolutely have merit), this would be a very long video which wouldn’t work on KZbin. There are so many variables to take into account when comparing sound, ANC, etc. This video is very much surface level for that reason. I’d recommend doing individual research on each headphone (I’ve covered all of these myself, on this channel, separately).

@@MarkEllisReviews i understand. if it clashes with the "business model" of youtube then really there's not much to be done. i am someone who really "does his homework" before buying something as expensive as a pair of headphones, sometimes it'd take months till i reach a conclusion haha. this is why i like videos that compare many different ones, to understand what are the pros and cons of each option. for example, currently i'm looking for 'uni headphones', which means i'm looking for an on-the-go set with decent ANC, option to use them wired at a computer, good enough mic for meetings, and nice enough sound so that i wouldn't be depressed to use them, since i have a mid-range headphone setup at home (going from an Audeze at home to a pair of skullcandies for your commute would probably be a bit depressing). sorry, went on a small rant, but my point is i think very hard about the different aspects of a product before i make my desicion, and that's why i like videos that do comparisons. maybe i'm just a guy with a hammer looking for nails lol.

Had the Xm5s - now have the Bathys - night and day tbh and DAC mode is another level - I know it's like comparing a Porsche and a Kia but if you can afford it go for it ! FYI I have the in-ear Xm5s for the gym and they're pretty good off my Shanling LDAC.

I purchased the Bose quiet comfort headphones during Black Friday and at first they were some of the best hunting I had ever used however they now will not stay connected to my phone for more than 60 seconds to two minutes and they just will suddenly disconnect. For a headphones that are this expensive I should not have any connectivity issues I have since returned them.

Bought the Bose QC ultra and can’t use them. Which I was gutted about. I was allergic to the ear cups. So I picked up the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e’s from amazon on Black Friday. No issues with the ear cups on those. Sound is about on par. But the noise cancelling and transparency are deffo better on the Bose.

I'm not sure if you keep all of your headphones or sell them or give them away BUT if there is a way for me to win a pair or even purchase them at a discounted price I would really appreciate the opportunity. I'm here in the US in North Carolina but I certainly don't mind paying for them to be sent!! I would buy some myself but if I'm being honest, I CAN'T afford them. I'm a fully disabled combat veteran...as a result of that, I can't work and am forced to survive solely on my VA disability check, and as everyone knows that becomes increasingly more difficult each week. I BARELY get by as it is so there is absolutely ZERO left over for luxuries like headphones. I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS and I just try to live vicariously through them. Px8 are good for falling apart. Google "Px8 problems" and hit the image tab. You'll soon discover MANY people have complained that after about 4 months the headband comes unglued. There have also been battery problems.

I have the Focal Bathys and Bose Ultra. For sound I use the Focal but when taking long flights out of Sydney, Bose noise cancellation is more important. Regards,

Hi friends, Sennheiser M4s are my go to headphones. They're very good to me out of the box with a big but on the low range, specially too boosted in the sub-bass area. Some EQ and they have excellent capabilities.

@@adambuffrey7966 Hi mate, there are several options depending on what you look for. For a neutralish tuning try -6, -2.8, +1.2, -0.7, +0.4 (from bass to treble). The Jazz preset is very good to my ears too.

Two things Mark first you missed one of the most significant new headphones released this year and I presume because they knock that lot into a cocked hat, AirPod Max!! Secondly, with your musical skills and maybe some input from ‘Fasthand Rob’ you could produce a track that would test all the headphones to the limit and something we could hear on KZbin and use to test our own sounds.

@@hayavadanaraya well, the sound is something subjective, but for headphones with ANC based on sound quality my picks will be Sennheiser Momentum 4, Melomania P100, Focal Bathys (for higher budget). Without ANC - Edifier STAX SPIRIT S5.

Regarding what I listened: - I disliked the sound of B&W Px7 S2e and PX8. PX8 is more neutral, but both are sharp for me and sibilant. The soundstage is narrow on S2e. ANC and mic's are lower, than average, also. - Noble Apollo has very sibilant and harsh sound so I discarded them, ANC and mics are catastrophic also. - Bose Quietcomfort Ultra has very good ANC but weak battery life and average mic for calls. Also their sound is a little bit harsh on mids I guess, the soundstage is also narrow. - Focal Bathys has so strong clamping force and big sizes so I can't use them on trips, but they sounds good with wide soundstage and without harshness. But for some bass response may become weak. - Sony WH-1000XM5 has awesome ANC, mics, transparency, but muddy mids and bass. So I guess I will also discard also my WH-1000XM4 (only average sound + weak mics), Technics EAH-A800 (weak bass on sub and ANC bumping issues) and will go with Sennheiser Momentum 4. Yes, they have a little bit weaker ANC, but awesome bass, clean mids, good microphones and awesome transparency.

This should be an interesting topic. I personally use the Sony XM5, and last year when my local Best Buy sold out of XM5s, I bought my folks some XM4s for Christmas (I still wish I could have gotten them the 5s though), which my parents had told me they love (and I see them use them a lot). Even though I’m happy with my Sony purchases, I won’t pretend to be curious about other options, should something happen to my headphones or those of my folks (not likely, but I’d rather be over prepared for things than unprepared).

Nice review, but i think the most important aspect is the sound card you have. No point to buy 300-400 dollars headphones, and having onboard laptop sound card. When i am buying head phones, i always have my Macbook with me for audio test.
