The Menu was so good! The set up in Barbarian was also so good! The third act spoiled it a bit for me. You should check out The Innocents (Norwegian psychological horror) and Resurrection (starring Rebecca Hall) too if you didn’t. They’re def on my top five horrors of the year list!

Out of all of Jordan peele's works, Nope is my least favorite of his

Yeah there really wasn't anything scary about it save for that scene with the chimp and almost one with the kids in owl masks messing with him in the barn. I think it works more as a sci-fi action comedy than any outright horror thriller. In that regard I don't mind it. I do like some of the ideas but its execution was just eh.

1 Black Phone (Ethan Hawke is what made this movie so great. I also think Madeline McGraw’s performance was stellar with her profane sense of humor too. Not only is it quite disturbing and gripping, but it’s inspiring to those who struggle to stand up for themselves) 2 The Menu (I would switch this and The Black Phone over and over again but this one was funny, satire, and intense all at the same time) 3 Smile (Hands down the scariest one) 4 Barbarian (Predictable but terrifying and dark) 5 Nope (Although IMDB thinks it’s a horror, I don’t think it is. Definitely scary, but not indeed a true horror movie)

Barbarian is best of these by far. 'The Menu' was good too. The rest were just okay. Gotta say, i just don't get Jordan Peele's appeal. Even 'Get Out' was just kinda' silly (of course, I knew it would be received positively. honestly, who of us didn't?). His work is def amusing. but little else.

I liked Barbarian, X and terrifier. But Jordan's Nope just fell flat for me. I understand where he was going with the film. But overall I just didn't like the plot and execution of the film. So nope was like a 2.5 star rating for me. And I hope jordan is able to bounce back from it. Because Get out was brilliant. Then we had US which is a good film too. But US was a decline and Nope was a decline in overall quality etc. So I don't want jordan to be remembered with having Get out a great horror film with great original ideas. To making two films after that definitely are not anywhere near as good as hos first Get out. That's why I hate when us film buffs and critics throw around the masterpiece tag on films and directors. Because sometimes it goes to there head. Then the producers will give a huge budget and write a check and then the director fails to reproduce that greatness and then there career and films dont ever work out again. So I fear that maybe what is happening with jordan Peele? But he's only made 3 films so it's still hard to tell. But if the quality and overall experience isn't great for us consumers? Then jordan won't keep getting chances. Anyway mu bad yall I'm going way off topic for this comment lol.
