With what Kane was saying about living in paradise, that’s exactly what my parents thought 20 years ago, so they retired early, bought their own piece of jungle paradise in the Philippines and have been loving every second of it since. Fresh coconuts, avocados, even growing and drinking their own coffee. My fiancé and I plan to do the same! That’s the life for sure. 👍🌴

Muravina Maria i wish to own an ecolodge like this probably smaller and not this luxurious and i am trying to make a business plan. I really want to have it done and if this couples do not mind i would love them to accommodate them for free a night or two. They are beautiful people. It is rare to find a couple this special. Happiest people in the world have very little ‘things’ but they live in warm climate, probably eat better fresh, organic foods, simpler life, less stress. Really makes you wonder why we work so hard and live knee deep in debt

Suzanne Lee I lived there for a few months and if it looks like the grass is greener on the other side, then I have to tell you, it’s not, it’s an illusion. Yes, the island life is amazing and the beaches are spectacular, but locals don’t go there much. Locals work a 45h week without any chance of getting out of the office slight earlier, not even once a week. They are generally grateful and content with what they have, however, they are exactly the same like us, they do want to have a better life so the money they make is also barely ever enough. They also have their own beauty standards which can get quite costly to achieve, that to include skin whitening and plastic surgeries are quite common too. I’ve also seen what people eat there. Some people eat quite healthy, but then they also have people that are obese and I’ve seen many. They don’t really stress any less cause at the end of the day, they go through all the same things as we do, and don’t let their smile mislead you. People can be just as jealous, greedy and nasty, and possess all the same qualities you hate about people from where you live. People are just people, they are the same everywhere no matter how different their culture appears to be.

My boyfriend and I are from a resort community and pledged to leave forever after college. 10 years later, we are living in the same resort community loving every moment. It is hard, rent is expensive, and it is a challenge to feel like your home is someone else's Disneyland (we're not there, in MA USA) but let me tell you... I get out of work at 4pm and am in the water by 410pm so.... when I compare myself to my successful friends, I always say I have more vacation time :P

I've heard a lot of people that go to tropical areas and teach English for example and become extremely lonely and unhappy after a few months of living there.
