The sister got married to shammy in an arranged marriage. That is why she is uncertain about him in a lot of scenes because she doesn't really know him that well. This movie does a really good job portraying patriarchy and toxic masculinity in the Indian society. But what I really love the most is the character development in the brothers. There are other comments that have suggested you to watch Bangalore days next and I cant stress this enough, Bangalore days is really a 10/10 movie. A great starter for someone getting into malayalam movies

So shammy and baby's sister are only together because of arranged marriage. His character represents an extreme version of the alpha male stereotype. If you see all his scenes, he constantly is trying to control all the women and children around him. He claims to be a protector of women but he creates a toxic environment by preventing the 3 women around him to live freely. Where as in the 4 brothers house they basically accept and welcome all the different women they come across without trying to rule over or dominate them. Without shammy, the movie would feel incomplete because he is the reference point to see how much different the 4 brothers are in their approach to masculinity and being a man. They focus on bettering themselves and take care of their mental health. And in the climax scene, they are not fighting shammy cus they are the heroes or because they are men, they are fighting him because they care about the people in their lives. As for baby's sister, she represents the women who are blind to the patriarchy and let others control her life. But she has character growth when she finally steps up for her sister.

This is actually an emotional movie, which portrays the relationship between stepbrothers and their life on an island where they live a low life. and the role played by Shammy is actually of a lunatic. Bonny do not speak. Such an emotional one and worth watching.
