The Best Keyboard For Students

Ducky was considered one of the best mechanical keyboards on the market not too long ago. Glad to see they're releasing a product line that has contemporary features experienced typists and enthusiasts want (open source firmware is a game changer, south-facing switches are essential for anyone who doesn't care about shine-through RGB). Though they're a few years late, and some other companies have lapped them in the meantime, it seems like this product line is a great competitor in that space. Looks like they're asking $300 for their aluminum version ProjectD, that's going to be a tough sell to their target market. Even though it looks like it's definitely worth the price, it's a high price. Nice review, I'd suggest a foam or felt mat under your keyboard. It will lessen the amount of vibration that transfers to your desk (which is very apparent in the sound test)

As another student, I would skip it as it doesn't have a dedicated "~" key. That slows down my typing especially when writing on LateX.

@@kenzo450D There's still a tilde key and function keys on a 65%, you just have to press a layer key to type it. It's no different than pressing shift to get a capital letter. And this keyboard is programmed with QMK/VIA so if you really need that tilde you can assign it wherever you want it to be using easy open source software. If you truly want to type fast a smaller keyboard is better. Every time your fingers leave the home row you're losing time. I'm typing this on a 42-key keyboard without a number row or most punctuation keys FWIW. It only takes a couple weeks to get the muscle memory down. And if you're using tilde often, it will only take a couple days to remember that you have to press something different to get that tilde. But Ducky also has a ProjectD 75% keyboard, with a function row and dedicated tilde/backtick key if you're dead set on it but are interested in this keyboard.

@@skweetis it boils down to Fn + Shift + Esc, which yeah works, but sticking to 75percent would definitely make it easier. Thanks for your recommendation. :)
