Thank you Matt for the knot tying demonstration. The vidual and narrative parts are the best that I have viewed. It is raining here in central KY, and now I can go practice the double uni knot. My local lake was up last night 9' from 3" of rain a few days ago, and rain started again last night. By the time it quits on Thursday we will have another 3-6". Taylorsville Lake will be 15 -20' above winter pool.

Tom, anytime my friend. Wow, your lake comes up quick. Of coarse 3” of rain is a lot of rain.

That uni knot is a whole lot easier with your large demo lines than 4 lb. mono and 6 lb. braid! I can do it at home; out on the water I revert to some of the language of my drill sargeant... the one I learned has the ends coming through a space in between the two loopings.

I think If I had one choice. It would be the uney not! Because of putting 2 lines together.

Love your videos. Why the flours- carbon leader. Can’t tie straight to the braid?
@WiredforCrappie2 жыл бұрын
Don, yes you can tie straight to braid. Several reasons I don’t. The main one being that if I do get hung in brush I want to be able to break off without pulling the brushpile off the bottom of the lake.

When I was young I used the improved clinch knot all the time. Now with age I don’t have the dexterity that I once had so I go to the single unit not. It has never failed me.
@WiredforCrappie2 жыл бұрын
Dk, we will all get to that point I’m sure. I hope to be able to tie a few more though. The single uni is a good knot as well.

Very nice demonstrations! Do you use the improved clinch knot with fluorocarbon line?
@WiredforCrappie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. With fluoro I almost always tie a loop knot.
