The BEST LA-2A Clone EVER! (The Opto Comp)

This video talks about my favorite compressor ever, the LA-2A and it's amazing sound. I can't afford one... so I bought a KILLER clone option instead, I'm completely blown away!

The hardware set in an actual studio means you can speed up recording because after like 3 recordings there will be some settings that ‘just work’. The same can be done with plugins if you start using ‘templates’. Then, slowly, you will work towards optimum settings for bands and rooms.

I got one better....just get Acustica Audio.....Brighton....and Use Nebula's Tim Ps Teletronix 2a Pre Amp before and after London Acoustic's Brighton Opto Comp...it will sound just as Good are Better in the Box if set right....LOL...thats runs you $150....you got a Live Analog Sampled 2A and 3A Pre....and Versitile Live Analog Sampled Opto and a Live analog Sampled 2A and 3A comp...thats alot for $150 with Nebula....The Catch is that the N4 plugin is $400 so thats still only $550 istead of $1500, more options, easier to use and pull up in Daw...still a bunch of Open, Tube analog 2A Richness...

Wow that does sound pretty freaking awesome, I am returning my WA2A to sweet water for this bad boy, they are all sold out at audioscape, there is a 3-5 week wait for new units to be built Ams shipped. Reverb had a used one for $749, but it looks a bit dented and scratched… paint chipping off. I thought these units would be like $1895 and up. I am shocked they are so affordable and they look better than any other LA2A clone on the market. I am so sold on getting this thing my throat tingle.

Are there any specific tips you can give about using an LA2A in series? That caught my ear. I just heard another producer say that’s how he tracks his vocals and have been recording for two decades and never heard this now that’s twice in one week… any insight you can give? Appreciate it.

Some for vocals use an 1176 to handle high peaks and then feed it into a LA2A for over all smoothness. One company that escapes me at the moment makes a 2U space compressor that is this. An 1176 circuit that goes into a 2A circuit. They can be used independently as well.

@@SkooraI’m aware. I own an 1176 and an la2a and a CL1B and use them professionally… what I am SPECIFICALLY asking about is when he talks about running two LA2A’s in series. That’s specifically what I’m asking about. I have seen another producer say the same thing recently and now I want to know about running two LA2A’s in series back to back like these guys are doing. He said they train their students to use LA2A’s back to back… that’s what I want to know about.
