I am looking to upgrade my router once there is a 6e option with a 10gbe port so I can do proper speed testing without bottlenecks, there just don't seem to be options yet.

I have seen a few videos/articles/posts where people were able to resolve their wifi issues on the Aero 15 by reseating the wifi card. Seemed to be a fairly simple fix to me, however, this doesn't excuse Gigabyte from not resolving the issue in the first place, considering this has been going on for a few years now.

This laptop is almost perfect for me. The upward tilted webcam hides my room in the background, I consider it a feature! This laptop handles 3D modeling and photoshop for my work with ease and I've never had a slowdown playing old video games like Civ 6 and Starcraft 2. I was struggling with the control center in the beginning but Aero has released an update. Make sure you download the latest version of the Gigabyte Control Center, turn off the AI and set up a custom fan profile.

@@flat_stickproductions209 judging by jarrod's comparison video, and keeping in mind how the Intel processor had the RAM overclocked and its die given liquid metal... the difference was 3.5% on average in 1080p, and 3% in 1440p. basically imperceptible, especially when you're more often than not going to play games on high/ultra where things get more GPU bound you know what is perceptible though? practically every multicore workload and when testing battery life, in which ryzen absolutely shits on intel. unless you are using your laptop EXCLUSIVELY for gaming at home... it's a no-brainer what to choose (given good pricing/availability lol)

Would be a better overall laptop if it had a Ryzen cpu (yes I know there is a minute difference in gaming performance), but the battery life improvements, better thermals, and faster cpu processing outside of gaming is unquestionably worth it. I bought the 2020 aero, and it was good at the time it came out. But my next computer is most likely going to be AMD.

The lack of type C charging is a little dissapointing when most others seem to pick it up. Generally 100W is plenty for study/business style work so would be nice to leave the brick at home. Also Zephyrus G15 vs Aero though G15 is a fair bit cheaper and no OLED so guess that's half the comparison right there

Got one last week but did send it back due to its poor Wifi Antenna. Right next to the router I had no issues, but even a few meters apart i got 1MB/s download or less. The display was quite reflective but other than that it felt great for the few days I had it. Hoping for a better antenna in the future.

Hi Jarrod. I have the Aero 15 XC (3070) oled model. It's a great machine, however its worth noting that resizable bar and advanced optimus are not working, even though they are advertised to. Gigabyte support have been pretty bad in giving people information about this as well. (I still have not received a reply after a week). Hopefully they release a bios update soon.

I just bought the 3060 version, as I didn't find the difference between the 3060 and 3070 worth the extra 600. This OLED 4K screen is amazing!! It handles Cyberpunk with fairly high settings and Ray Tracing enabled at 1080. DCS runs smooth in full 4K with almost all options maxed out. As a DAW, it's amazing as well. It can handle more than I can throw at it with very low buffer settings.

To be fair, the 3070 also has 32 GB ram vs 16, a 1 TB HD vs 512GB and Windows 10 Pro vs 10 Home ... it's not just the 3070 vs the 3060. Maybe still not worth the $600 extra to you, but it is more than just a video card upgrade.

How does the power work with an Aussie buying from the US? Do the laptop power bricks work on both 110v and 220/240v? Do they give you an Aussie plug? I think it is better to not have a webcam than to have one in that position. Fan noise seems horrendous. Did they put the mic right next to the fan? I prefer 16/10 screens to 16/9.

Don't worry about the weird motion blur on OLED displays. The pixel response time of an OLED panel is inherently better than all other panels out there.

But as you know there are wifi issues and the wifi speed drops to 2mbps even when you are behind one furniture. I know its an antenna thing and i wonder if you have any tip about modificating/moving the antennas.

Really like your videos. I almost watched all of them. But, are you really test this laptop Aero 15 with its battery time? Casuse I could just have 2 to 2.5 hours with this laptop under AI battery-saving mode. My friend bought an 11th Intel 3060 version has the same issue. But you said that it could have almost 7 hours when watching KZbin with no keyboard backlit and low screen backlight. Could you borrow or get one to test it? Cause I don`t know this is my personal issue or it is the control center`s issue.

Is the screen that much better over the ROG G15? I have last year's top of the line Aero 15 OLED as well as the the XPS 17. I am really liking the G15 for its weight and performance. It feels like a great compromise between the XPS and Aero. I love the Aero's screen and performance, but the constant fan noise was a deal breaker for me, as far as being my daily driver.

I believe it's the same Samsung OLED panel as what you already have, so yes brighter and better colour/contrast vs the G15. Unfortunately I can't compare response time, I'd expect OLED to be better but I can't properly measure it with the tools I have.

My Aero 15 V8 from 2018 is still holding up well, considering the out-of-stock conditions with RTX30 GPUs and 2021 laptops. I wonder why Gigabyte never had any AMD laptops. It would be perfect to have a Ryzen CPU Aero 15, with the screen upgraded to a 16:10 1440p high refresh rate panel. I/O wise the Aero is probably one of the best with all the interfaces but I like it better like some laptops that put some of them at the back of the base rather than all congested on the sides.

Aero 15 has everything, but the problem is the quality, from my personal experience, the whole built up quality isn't there, they use lesser quality ram, ssd, touchpad, and even more, the keyboard is shrink a little bit to squeeze the numpad in, therefore while u are typing, u will hit the wrong button very often..... But generally speaking, the price is good, the ports are great(sd card), and the screen is beautiful...

I really like the chasis. I am a bit bummed because I like everything about it, except that the USBc has not display and that it has an intel cpu. In my work I do a lot of simulations and they use CPU so a ryzen is what I will be getting. I wish I could mix this laptop with the new Legion 7!

I was just looking at the gigabytes auros line up with the 3060 and 3070s. They are making more changes this year in their products, (no mech keyboard, chassis is now plastic instead of metal, no thunderbolt) something i wanted to ask though that ive noticed a few other reviewers mention, was about a gap in the screen hinge on the right side facing toward you. On the new auros 15g the hinge isnt fully connected but rather hangs from the right. Wanted to know if that existed on this model as well.

(My old laptop dropped 25C after I got it some Arctic Silver 5. Had to reapply it every 6 months as the pump out effect would increase temps over time).

I can almost never do this, sorry, the borrowed review units I get like this need to stay stock as they get sent to others to test and if I change it they'd report incorrect and perhaps better results than anyone buying would expect out of the box.

@@JarrodsTech 100% understandable. The reason I was mentioning it is because it "could" be an easy solution to some laptops that would make them rank much higher than other units (I think the Gigabyte G5 is great in most aspects except temperatures for the price).
