Hi. What kind of variable nd filter you use in 70-200 lens? Cheapest to expensive. Thanks

I use the Promaster 1.3-8 stop variable ND

I film sports and Basketball videos mostly with the Sony 70-200 mm first version 😅 I am very happy with the quality

It’s a great lens. Did you go with the f2.8 or f4 version?

Great stuff… I’m very new at this… using the 70-200 in football games if the subject is running at you. (Like the example you have in this video) Do you have to zoom in and out to keep the focus on the subject. I can never tell if the videographer is zooming in and out while filming…

I pull focus manually so it's all up to me to zoom and focus. I usually zoom out when the player is running at me but it just depends on what kind of shot you are going for.

Have you ever tried the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8? I shoot more travel content, events and nightlife (use 20/35 primes for night shoots) but I wanna get into sports especially basketball/football. I follow a few sport videographers and most of them said if I don't wanna worry about changing lenses or pay $2800 with the GM II. the 35-150 is a good option for indoor sports but I feel like for football it wouldn't be enough even with clear image zoom on my FX3... Or have stabilization glitches since it has none.

Hey sorry for the late reply but I have not tried that lens but I have heard good things about it. I think that would be a great option for basketball but like you said, I'm not sure if that would cover enough of the field for football. Hope this helps!

i am thinking of the a6700 with the tamron 35-150 (50-225mm ff eqv) f2-2.8. i shoot everything from wildlife to sports to cars. would this be a good investment. i want to eventually pair it with a 17-70 2.8

I think that is a great lens especially if you are going to be shooting everything. 35-150 is versatile and pairing that with a 17-70 would be perfect.
