In January only (which doesn't leave much time) ON1 is free. I'm sure they'll charge for upgrades etc. but it looks pretty powerful as it is right now. I just found out and loaded it last night. This video is very helpful. I'm not fully convinced right now that much of what you're showing couldn't be done in LR Classic, but I will play and work with it for a while. Thanks for this video Anthony.

Interesting, more tutorials on the wide range of time savings plugins is welcome. There are so many plugins out there, these days as an amateur photographer it's often a chore to figure out which ones are worth having or not. Thanks.

ON1 Effects is worth it just for the skin smoothing alone - just duplicate the layer in Photoshop, add the smoothing and then paint it on with a mask in Photoshop - it is amazing on portraits!

Nice video and thank you. I have the latest Lightroom Classic and ON1 RAW 2023 and when in Lightroom I send it to ON1 after doing some edits I click done but ON1 asks me to save it on my hard drive and when it goes back into Lightroom it doesn’t have the ON1 edits.

We are so spoiled. Not many years ago, I would process an image for the foreground while ignoring the sky, then process a copy for the sky while ignoring the foreground, and then merge them in Photoshop. This, because local adjustment filters were so lacking (and because I'd not taken the time to learn more Photoshop).

Anthony, how would you compare On1 Effects with Lumina Neo? I have the Adobe package and would like to pair down my expenses. 😀 I have the Photo RAW 2023 as well. I love the On1 products. Luminar Neo has become really good as well especially with the last update. Thanks!

I get a little discomfort in that the effects are permanent (i.e., destructive) when you go back to LR. Although I understand the original is still there if you wanted to throw away the new one.

As a loyal follower of your channel and curious about the possibilities of ON1, I installed the trial version and experimented with it for a while. I've decided not to work with it. Most effects, have not tried them all of course, can also be achieved fairly quickly in lightroom, camera raw or photoshop, if not with presets. The mask tools in particular disappointed me. In short, will be a great application, but not for me.

Holy bass man! Lighten up on the low end already! From 100HZ on down just cut it off. I don't know what you're listening to through or from, but you went from weak low end to shaking walls low end over night. It seems you got some new gear or you are tweaking things in a new way, but you ain't hearing what the rest of us are! I'm just trying to help. Cheers 🍻
