This was a truly great reaction, thanks. They still had 2 more songs before the end of this show. They slowed it right down and Su had everybody in tears with 'Akatsuki' unfinished version and then they sent the crowd completely insane again with a very special performance of 'BABYMETAL Death' where they proved they are more metal than any of us will ever be.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 The concert was 'Legend 1997'. Held in 2013, it celebrated the 16th birthday of Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), the lead singer. 1997 was her year of birth. They had a 'Legend 1999' concert earlier that year that celebrated Yui and Moa's 14th birthdays. Even though that looked like the finale, it was followed by two more songs. It was part of a five song encore with the live Kami Band. And you're right, they are phenomenal live. Can't wait until they are able to start touring again. BTW, nice bay windows. That's a great filming spot.

Took me a bit of research (as I'm german)- so japanese writing is syllables, except the one consonant "n". So it's written He-do-ba-n-gya. Funny fact about Babymetal: In japanese its written Be-bi-me-ta-ru. Heavy metal is He-bi-me-ta-ru, so the only difference are two spots on the first syllable. So Babymetal is a kind of wordgame. The music style is called "kawaii-metal" what means cute metal and is a mixture of metal and j-pop basically.

The girl fans of visual-kei were called "bangya" (= band gals), and this is why the title is written as "ヘドバンギャー", i.e. "hedobangyaa" = "headbang" + "band gal". So there's some wordplay in this song title as well. It's rendered as 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' now instead of 'Head-Bangya!!' for international audiences.

I love this performance, but my favorite version of this is their performance at Budokan Black. The gong appears out of the floor of the stage. Even though this is one of their oldest songs, they almost always play it in concert. I wish there were better videos of when the other girls get to sing it. They have a tradition of having the other girls sing Headbangerr on their birthday. The crowd goes wild when Su-Metal passes off the mic and switches places. For more insane theatrics, check out Death Legend 1997 from this show... The song where Su, the singer, is crucified and Su-Metal, the metal goddess, is created.

Next suggestion should be IDZ from sonisphere 2014. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c This is their first big festival outside Japan. They did 5 songs and this show changed metal forever. This is the fifth and last song. Many didn't know who Babymetal was. But as you can see in video the crowd was loving them. Also at this show Babymetal merch outsold everybody including big name bands even 3 days later. Many things led up to it but guarantee you will love it. Ok. FYI this song it is about a 15 year girl going to her first metal show even though she was 14 when the video came out. You should really check out the official video for Headbanger. Su was 14 and the other 2 were 12 almost 13 I think.

That's one of the best things about Babymetal. It's how Babymetal was meant to be: not on the album, but live, with the audience that joins to do the participation. Otherwise it is like something is missing. 7 people on stage and the audience is the 8th member of the band only then it's the complete Babymetal experience. This was just one song though, a Babymetal show is a lot longer than that :-) PS The official song title name includes 5 Es, 5 Rs and 5 exclamation marks at the end LOL

This song is a fan favourite and pretty much still played at every concert, It also holds a special place in BABYMETAL lore. It refers to a girl going to her first concert at 15. when both Yui and Moa turned 15 Su handed them the mic stick and they sung this song (concerts were in France and Germany back in 2014). When Su turned 20 in 1997 the lyrics were changed from 15 to 20 (20 is coming of age in Japan). Last year Moa turned 20 and again got handed the mic for her 20th version. All these shows are available on youtube so check them out.

The so-called death stare Su-Metal gets on her face at 5:19 is actually the burning gaze of Alexander the Great, which seems to peer into your very soul. Queen Su has a couple other things in common with the mighty Macedonian conqueror. First, there is her self-avowed desire to conquer the world, albeit in her case through music. Then there is the story about a much earlier performance at Saitama Super Arena in 2008. Back then Su was the youngest member of a pop/idol trio called Keren Girls. Having never played such a large venue before, the two older girls were naturally a bit nervous about it. Su on the other hand was so confident that she decided to take a nap before the show, and slept so soundly that someone had to go wake her. The first time I read this story it actually gave me a chill because there is an eerily similar story told about Alexander before the Battle of Gaugamela. It was then that I realized what is so special about Su-Metal. She possesses that intangible something that is the spark of greatness.

I always think if someone watches this and still does not get BabyMetal, they never will. BabyMetal have so many epic songs, it is difficult to know what to recommend next for you. This is a great song and there is a bonus because you get solos from the Kami Band, at the beginning. 'Catch Me If You Can' kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJibhpKgZcyjgqs If you get problems with blocks, there is a way around them by using the link and sync,style of video reaction. BabyMetal fans are used to this style as many people have had issues with blocks and strikes on their channel with various Japanese artists, but particularly BabyMetal.
