Rocky bottom isn't a problem but pared with heavy currents it is. The solution is to control your lure/jig perfectly and never ever let it rest on the bottom more than a split second. Be very fast and concentrated and you will safe a lot of money! 😁 TL Max

Great video Max. Loved softbait vs jigs idea. I am sure that BM would take a big lead on large enough sample size. Apart from that, really loved the butterfly cut, can you tell me a bit about the cut, how to you slice the fish to be able to open it so wide for the oven ? Love the idea.
@maxdocken7 ай бұрын
Hi mate, I think it depends on the situation. I got my biggest Snappersstrikes all on jig but only in situations when fish are searching for prey along underwater edges. The strike is a reaction bite happening super fast. But in general I agree that the softbait is a much better lure to trick the fish. The you set the cuts from the inside (belly) until the back, not through. Then you make a cut close to the head behind a gill plate. The inside bones you cut with a scissors and remove them. It's somehow difficult to explain with words. 😅 The big advantage is that at the end the fish has nearly the same thickness everywhere and doesn't get dry in the oven. Super easy, clean and tasty! Greetings Max

Interesting choice to put soft baits on the 93m and jigs on the 100m. I would have thought it should be the other way round. Would be interested to hear your logic. Awesome video footage mate. Thanks for sharing 🤙

Thanks bro, ✌️ Sonio 93 M has a stronger tip selection so it's better for a proper hookset (offset hook) and it's easier to start the lure from the bottom quickly. The tip of the 100 M is softer and makes jig animation more easy, especially in the light range. Greetings Max

@maxdocken I guess in my area main fish would be between 2-10kg mostly because I am planning to fish 5-18 meters and the fish at that depth rarely could go up to 20-25kg in my region. That's why I was asking if I could have a chance to fight or carry all the time heavy equipment.

@@Seconds155 if the fish are below 10 kg and you have kind of shallow spots 6000 size reel with PE 2,5 will work well. Thats what I fish on my Sonio 100 M as well. 🎯
@Seconds155Ай бұрын
@@maxdocken Now I got Your point master, I guess the biggest problem is the rocky shallows in that case and not the gear itself. Because on that size of reel and rod You can't fit enough line and work with pe6 pe8 braid with 0.80mm mono which would have huge abrasive resistance and stopping power with tight drags. I have seen they even fish 40 50kg Tuna with TP SW 5-6000 but on boat and maybe deep waters which the fish can't cut the line easily and can't spool you if you follo him with the boat. What's the jigs and lures You prefer at that depths which You use already and think they work ?
@maxdockenАй бұрын
@@Seconds155 absolutely, if you don't have any dangerous structures and enough line you can catch very big fish with light tackle. Usually from a rocky shore we don't have these circumstances so it's better to be in control of the fish. In shallow spots I like to fish jigs 60-80g, Softbaits 40-80g as well as hardbaits.

For this depth you need an Zenaq Accura 100H or a 95 H - the critical point is not the weight of the jig to cast but the water pressure of 60 bar. Sonio has a soft tip and doesn't move a jig in this depth properly, second imagine a good fish on in this depth.
