I use the flipper on my 2 tanks. My girlfriend uses magfloat. I will say I prefer the flipper. Its smaller and does a better job. But do what works for you.

This video is exactly what i was looking for. I have a small fluval one but the magnet strength is weak, always have to open my dart frog vivs to grab and reposition. I do like the size/shape as I can squeeze into tight places around the driftwood but its very week i need another one.

I use the flipper. It works but not as well as I was hoping. It takes a whole lot of scraping to get the algae off. And one half of the scraper seems to work better than the other half.

though algae free magnetic cleaners are super expensive, they are truly the best one in the market right now. i own them all and always go back to algae free

Good Vid!! I have used just about everyone one on the market, the Mag-Float, Flipper MAX 2-in-1, and many others but in my opinion, the TUNZE Care Magnet 0220.025 Algae Cleaner is no doubt superior!!

Is there a magnet for a bubble shape acrylic tank? My acrylic tank is a square with a half clear ball coming out of the square shape. Please let me know if you have something practical to clean the algae. Thanks.
@BulkReefSupply5 жыл бұрын
The Tunze Care magnets work great for a bowfront but with a sphere, you will run into trouble. I think your only option would be scrubber pads manually or something like the Two Little Fishies nano magnet below. The cleaning side is really tiny but also flexible so it will clean the sphere without problems. mdshop.us/2XZDx9C

I have a 10 gallon tank for my beta fish, I don’t have a magnetic algae cleaner, and have had my tank for about 4-5 months and just noticed a light bit of algae in my tank, and have seen these before, what do you think I should get

Would scrapers scratch curved glass? I have a bow front
@BulkReefSupply3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, bowfront aquariums are quite tough when it comes to algae magnets. Therefore, we recommend removing algae on their glass manually.

Hi, I have an octagonal fish tank, which is almost five feet deep. I am finding it difficult finding a suitable algae magnet that will help clean the corners. Any suggestions? Thanks. :)
@BulkReefSupply4 жыл бұрын
Octagonal aquariums can be quite tough. In order to get into the corner you would need something with a blade extension like one of the Flipper Float models.

I'm using flippers and mag floats on my systems. Good luck with both during long term use here!
@Ralfscho5 жыл бұрын
I rather get my sleeves wet than using an aglea magnet. It's too easy to scratch your glass with them. Catching one tiny sharp object in the pad and your tank's scratch free life is over. I use filter for the main surfaces and a simple plastic triangle protractor for the glass close to the bottom. Only once in a while I need to use a scraper.
@BulkReefSupply5 жыл бұрын
Scrapers are certainly the most efficient method and I can understand your sentiment. Thanks for sharing your tips! I love the protractor idea and I think I am going to test it out today. -Robert @ MD

what they wont tell u in this video, since they obviously are trying to sell products instead of properly testing; is that the TUNZE magnet will grow small crustaceans on the inside of the magnet bar and eventually will scratch the glass on your display. It also does not float. save yourself the stress and avoid purchasing this algae magnet. the full sized magnents are far less likley to scratch the tank and also float which makes life much easier.
@dontreply83464 жыл бұрын
What they don’t need to tell you is that of course stuff will grow on it if you leave it in your tank all the time. How about, taking it out after each use? Or is that too hard? Does marine depot need to hold your hand for everything?
