Just before Christmas we lost someone on our side of the family. He had a heart condition for years. Yet this last mishap really did a number on him. The hospital sent him home with meds but he knew this was to be his last Christmas.He went shopping a few weeks before to get his kids all their gifts but he passed on in the front seat of his truck . He didn't make it for his last Christmas but his will left instructions that they all get couriered a couple wks before Christmas and they did. The gifts made it. He still made it happen.

I always find it interesting that the character Lance (and commenters) truly believes he is not partially to blame. “She cheated on him with his best friend, I wouldn’t have married her, he preyed on her, he was just a college kid...” Sounds like another “boys will be boys” excuse. Truth be told. She shouldn’t have stayed with him after all his cheating. She should have left. If commenters believe she’s not wife material, then he certainly isn’t husband material. We don’t see any instance of Lance apologizing for hurting her. His character thinks he’s beyond reproach. His temper is frightening (he could have killed Harper), but she still responds gently. Harper didn’t need to prey on her because he already knew her. If he really wanted to be with her, he probably could have. Lance saw a “virgin conquest” and asked his best friend to hook them up ( it’s why I don’t play Cupid; get your own date). I’m not saying that Harper and Mia weren’t wrong, but Lance isn’t without fault.

Remember the cards scene from the first movie, Quentin's point about women being just as scandalous as men are. When we think about it, the frustration that Lance was hiding all those years surfaced in this scene. He thought he knew the entire story but, just like the previous 'The Best Man', everything was pointed right at Harper. Mia was right to own up to what she did, yet Lance had the audacity to put it ALL on Harper until she said, "I'm sorry that I chose him (Harper)." Lance cheated plenty of times with women that Mia never knew. When she cheated on Lance one time with his best friend/best man, that's what really caused hell to break loose. I'm just glad Mia managed to try to make things right before she passed. Forgiveness is expensive, but it's worth it.

This is a very powerful scene. And I absolutely agree. Great movie!!! Forgiving is always right. And that is key to moving on. I let nothing stop me from forgiving. But we should never forget. That people are who they are. You can do what is right to change you but you can't change the way others are. So you forgive and move on.

I was so glad she had finally apologized for her part in that mess. Because I always thought Lance shouldn’t have married her. Because she did it knowing it was going to kill him. The only reason I think they made it was because Lance never focused on Mia being in the wrong. Only Harper. By keeping Harper out their lives it made it easier for him to be happily married to Mia.

Lucresia Mabien so late I know, but what I will say is that Lance’s cheating did hurt her and she could have left him, but her cheating not only hurt Lance, it hurt others in their circle. So even if he left her, there would have been pain for others she’s close to. She cared about Harper and she cared about harpers love interest (nia long) so her actions could or did result in something far more tragic. Lance almost killed Harper, how would she have felt then? She could have slept with one of Lance’s football teammates, which would have hurt him greatly and even maybe affected his game, but his best friend who was also her friend and her close friends love interest? Too far and that’s how people end up on the first 48
