Thank you all for watching, and for the support. Thanks to Chris and Travis for the collaboration. This kit is in the back of the OLB 80 series right now and I know I'll be able to make a difference when needed. Quality medical gear is not cheap. Lots of questions in the comments about price. What you will find is that building your own on Amazon will be $146 MORE expensive than our price for Overland Bound Members! It will be $55 more expensive for non-members. Building your own costs more. Still, links to the item contents are located on our product page if you would like to build your own, just please be prepared! Get this kit or build your own before you buy lights! Don't be that guy with fancy lights who can't render aid when needed. -Michael

The best kit is one you build yourself imo. I work in healthcare and advocate trauma kits for everyone but the vast majority of these premade kits are trash and most lack even a TQ. I always recommend someone get some first aid training (it's cheap!) and build a kit so it makes you familiar with its components.

Adventr-X Overland you hit the nail on the head. It’s a “buyer beware” world out there when it comes to lifesaving gear!

Finally, a practical kit geared toward real world use!! As an MD, I find most kits are geared towards "Wow" factor but skimp on the basics that are really needed. Dr. Solis has a pragmatic, real world approach which is why I frequently direct people to his First Aid Video. His advice emphasizes the use of simple supplies, in adequate numbers, that are easy to access and use. This kit is really expert advice with a product option. For those who want a readily available, complete, and appropriate kit, they can buy it. I can understand this as I'm a physician, yet I got stuck in analysis paralysis and took forever to put my own kit together. It's important to note that Overland Bound has made this advice and list readily available for those who wish to cobble their own kit together or make a smaller, simpler version. I commend Chris, Michael & Travis for what I know had to be a notable effort to bring it all together. Good work guys!!

Chris - I'm a retired Navy Hospital Corpsman (26 years) and held EMT-Basic & Intermediate for years and even obtained EMT-WIlderness Cert through SOLO in New Hampshire. I climbed above all that with some Advanced Combat Casualty Care (SOF) training back in the day, also. I have 8(+) years of Ground Search & Rescue as well. I haven't touched a patient in over 20 years (PTS issues - which seems to be more controlled nowadays). Bottom line is that I miss having the ability when needed, but I'm also gettin' older and I've been busted up pretty good over the years. I've been thinking about putting together a good kit and have looked at many options. (I had a really one, I'd built over the years but it got stolen out of my vehicle many years ago. I like what you are demonstrating here and I may have to save some $$$ to snag that. I know that many protocols have changed and I really need to go back into the classroom but at my age, I don't know if I can (physically).

Great video! As a combat vet, med kits are one thing you should never cheap out on. If a surgeon says it’s good listen! Great video and I will for sure be buying one in the next month. First time view and must say great content on this one and thanks for all the info. Be safe out there!

I like how this gives you a non BS base to work with and space to add to your level of your scope of practice / what you want . Only thing I think should be added to this bag as a base is an additional CAT tourniquet.

The best... the one you train to use, and of course take with you. Practice with your kit. Simulate a laceration with ketchup and use some of your kit to clot, to wrap, and to tourniquet.

I just looked to see how much this is and it $500.00 +. I made 3 EMT bags for under 350. And it had everything they had in their bag that they are selling. I thought this was going to be cheaper than other bags. Amazon sells a full EMT bag with everything for every situation for less than 500.

I've been wanting a trauma kit for my vehicle. I go out fishing, wading trout streams. My biggest fear is falling on a decent size rock and cutting myself open a couple inches. How is that kit gonna handle it? I feel I should carry a means to stitch myself up. Puncture wounds kinda the same thing. When I think trauma kit, I look at the basic things that require an ER visit if I were at home, etc.
