Very nice find Chris and very cool to have a discount for the community. This is an interesting and quirky watch, very colorful and out there. I also think the front view of the case is great. The angular ridge just before the lugs is very cool and a bit reminiscent of a Seiko Samurai. You are spot on with the hands and indices finishing being quite 'industrial grade'. That, together with the sort of unpleasant (imho) looking side-profile of the watch and the potentially too small lug-width are the main negatives I can see. But, overall, I think this is a fun and reasonably priced watch. Some people would absolutely love it. Brian is spot on with his perspective on what microbrands should offer.

I quite like the side looking profile of the watch, the slab look doesn’t bother me at all, but overall, I think this is just so bloody awesome, definitely the most unique offering from a microbrand I have seen this year, oyher than the vice chronograph by Farr and Swit

Very nice. Just looking at specs it’s a bit expensive, BUT I have always said there is value to a good design, and I think this is a great design. Thanks for the great review!

@@adk7962 thanks adk I think they are doing exactly what a microbrand should. The only watch that rivals this for originality is the vice chronograph by Farr and Swit. Both are so bloody cool

Thanks for the review, Chris! I appreciate your honest review and even your gripes! On those hands and indices -- the finishing was purposeful to make it feel a bit more vintage and have that 60's- 70's vibe of "handmade" or "found" steel or aluminum. When I was a kid growing up on the beach, you'd sometimes find weird metal flotsam and jetsam on the beach -- from a sunken ship? A 1920's rum runner? Who knows, but we imagined a lot (it was likely just something that fell off a fishing boat!). It was always sort of shiny and scratched up and we used the found goods in sand castles and such. But reality is that's probably WAY too much personal minutia! So your gripe there is probably a bit accurate and I should have pulled back on that bit of thinking. I still think it adds a bit, but I totally get the point! If anyone ever has any questions -- feel free to contact me!

I really like this watch. I'm also a woman, so the MONSTROSITIES you usually showcase don't suit me too well. I worked in the Middle East for 3 years and am tickled pink that Al Ain is featured on the bezel.

@@iron883cd well not 450, but san martin are homage watches, and I don’t find them any better than this one m8, and if you have issues with a san martin good luck, I have had two nightmare scenarios with San martin and they are terrible to deal with. I would rather pay a little more money for a brand owner who will take care of you and who is making more than just a homage watch.
