Do you put out minerals? If so, what kind? Have you seen an improvement in your deer?

BLACKBEARD Nice. I have a little magnesium also.

I use 100lbs trace mineral salt 50lbs dicalcium phosphate, and usually mix it a bucket of lucky buck for the smell/taste. I found the big tine cherry rush flavor/scent stuff at tractor supply so I started mixing a tub of it in with it since it’s about $10 instead of $20 lucky buck,

I buy the 40 lb blocks from the local farm feed store. The only one the Deer don't care for is the blue blocks, I usually set up one yellow, one brown and one red block on my 300 acre woodlot and they last for two whole years.

I’ve thought about getting a cheap concrete mixer to mix my mineral with since I make about 300lbs a year. I think it would work great!

The same here. I bought one from brother tool a year ago to mix concrete for some deck piers. I haven’t made any minerals since buying it but think it’ll be perfect.

Electric concrete mixer works great

BRENT WESTBROOKS I’ve been thinking the same thing. It’s a pain to mix by hand. A mixer would make quick work of it.

Antler growth starts with the doe when she is pregnant. You feed her the nutrients and the little buck will start growing a nice rack.

One thing I never really expected with putting out the minerals was the number of animals feeding on them. Yes, I seen bucks and does, but I also see raccoons, squirrels, and fox. I’ve seen coyotes come by but they seem to just be on the trail and not interested in the minerals. I’ve been able to see the growth get better year after year but I have also noticed that it is pulling more bucks to the area than I used to see.

What was your recipe for the protein mix you made
@JaredsShop3 жыл бұрын
My mix isn’t protein but is minerals.

When are we going to see the results?
@JaredsShop4 жыл бұрын
I need to go through my pics and create a slideshow. I’ve definitely seen an improvement in size but also in the deer it attacks. The number of bucks that hang around has increased 2-3 fold.

Will I'm still waiting for the report on this deer mineral. Did it work or did it poison them 🤔
@JaredsShop3 жыл бұрын
It worked very well and in different ways than I though. It attracted more deer from neighboring areas and I started seeing deer I’ve never seen before. I’ve struggled with how to make a video because I can’t imagine people want to watch a video with a bunch of game camera pics. I will be putting something together.

Well???????????????????????? The follow up??? Or was it that bad?
@JaredsShop3 жыл бұрын
It’s been great and in ways I didn’t expect. The minerals seem to have drawn in bucks that I have never seen before. I’m seeing more bucks every year. I’ve gathered pictures but have struggled with how to put them in a video. I’d hate to make a boring slideshow.

Mix it in the tractor bucket.
@JaredsShop4 жыл бұрын
I thought about doing that but I mix more than I use and it’s easier to put it in plastic buckets. I did recently purchase a cement mixer for a different project so I’ll probably use that from now on.
