Rip spikey. I hope in deer heaven you have all the fields to feed in, all the other bucks to battle with and all the does to mount. Rest in piece my friend.

I wish more hunters would let the smaller bucks walk....it's worth it when you see that wall hanger step out and get that shot.

That was an excellent video. Really shows the true potential of letting them mature. Very well done 👍

That was amazing to learn. Me coming from a Dad who was a hunter and Mom who cooked all his wild life kill. I myself could not shoot one of these. I respect those who do for food. I live rural and appreciate what I do see of them even in my yard. This vid of this buck and him becoming an old man brought me to tears.

amazing. I hear everyone say you shouldn't let them get pass about 3 or 4, that it's all downhill after that. Just shows how impatient we are as a society. Perfect harvest is actually around 6 and still in their prime at 7. Truly great information and great work.

Spectacular video! Second time I’ve seen it over the years now. Lots of information in there! Makes me sad to see him go but happy for the long life he enjoyed.

Soo many fair weather hunters that only go out 3 days a year really need to heed this information.. before they go out and start blasting everything in sight

Really enjoyed this video. Not really understanding some of the comments about the video. This should make us all want to be better managers of the land and deer. Amazing jump after moving the deer. My approach for years is to let the bucks mature and harvest does for meat. My biggest drive lately is to provide more variety for them. This year I’ve plant 4 chestnut trees 7 apple trees 1 crabapple 1 pear tree. Transplanted several devils walking sticks, all of this next to 3 acres of clover and chicory food plot. Mostly cattle farms around me with a little crop soybeans/corn rotation. I’ve also cleared out and fertilized around some persimmon trees. My future plans are plum trees, few more pear trees, few more chestnut trees and dwarf chinkapin trees. I also pulled down a lot of wild grape vines to put it in reach of the deer. I hinge cut several trees too and have several more marked for this winter too. Trying to give them all they need.

It's really amazing how a 250-300 lb animal can hide so well. before deer cameras, you rarely saw a huge buck on the hoof unless shot or hit by vehicle.

Really nice to see that video.. antlers growth varies with health factors , spring time food shortage from drought , flood.. if it was a doe or a cow , we hear about the weight.. I like to hear the weight of big bucks.. 175, 225,, 300 lbs ? I'm more of a meat Hunter..
