I bought a SINGLE Windsor & Newton five years ago. That was ten years into my mini painting journey, and i would say when you reach a point when you want to highlight every edge and paint the eyes on your minis, get a racecar brush. Until then, listen the the Wisdom of Bruski.

Appreciate it! And yeah, they DO work, I'm trying to be really clear in telling people not to buy them off the bat while admitting they are pretty good when you're ready for them.

@@SavageBruski exactly! It's crazy easy to just ruin these expensive brushes before you know what you're doing. And that is a massive feel bad moment.

@@willpenn966 absolutely. And budget wise, especially for the younger crowd, they don't have that kinda scratch! If they're hobbying they're spending that allowance or birthday money just on minis, rules and maybe paint!

This is a fascinating topic. First, never realized how much brushes for miniatures could cost. Love the advise about starting.. well... small 🥰 ~sg

I buy cheap brushes from Hobby Lobby. They work pretty well. I find a #2 brush does 80% of the work done, then whatever small brush for details.

Totally. I can do everything with that brush set and maybe a reaper .5.
