We live on the Eastern Shore and the best thing about DC for us is all the Smithsonian museums are free. Most visitors don't realize this also means the Zoo as well. The holiday Zoo Lights this year were amazing.

We came the last weekend in March and hit peak Cherry Bloom and it was truly amazing. So, we are coming back again this year to some of the stuff we didn’t get to see. Plus liked the weather. It was cold in the morning and cool and comfortable during the day.

Nice. Very lucky to catch an early bloom in March!

Hi Rob. Samantha here from Virginia!! Today is my first time in seeing you and I love what you are doing. Yes I drove through before but didn't really get to see all I wanted to see. So I am coming back in next few days.. However I am mobiliity challenged and do so in my power chair. I would really appreciate you hitting me back on where I need to be concerned about cutdowns.. I am especially interested in the war memorial area. But I didn't see a cut down for me by the water area.. I will definitily follow you from now on .. Take care Merry Christmas 👩🦼

We just returned from our family trip to DC 12-29 through 01-02. Thanks to TripHacksDC and some info from friends, we were able to have an awesome trip. I would highly recommend this time of year because the crowds were low and the weather was nice.

Hi, i see that this year, probably in summer will open the dulles Metro station
@TripHacksDC4 жыл бұрын
Dulles Metro is currently scheduled to open in 2020. Given how many delays there have been already, no one is making any promises.

We took our first ever trip to DC in July of of 2019 during 100+ degree heat wave, we thought it was going to be brutal but with all the museums and shaded areas of many of the monuments it was tolerable. We were there for 5 days and feel there was so much more we wanted to see, so we are planning another trip this June.

I came at the beginning of April just at the peak of cherry blossom season. Although it was beautiful, it was too crowded for me. I’m coming back this year, so I’d like to come in September.
@TripHacksDC4 жыл бұрын
You will find smaller crowds in September. Enjoy!

Visited last March 2019 and it was great! Stayed at the wharf. Saw cherry blossom but not much

We went this past November 2019, the first week right after Halloween. The weather was amazing! I'm from Miami so it was a little chilly compared to what we're used to, but the weather was fantastic! Fall was in full swing, so the leaves had already changed and best l the lines at the museum, monuments, White House, and Capitol were very short. Great trip can't wait to go back and/or move there!

That's an excellent time of year, weather-wise.

Mid-November was great time for our trip...50 degree weather, small crowds, and a surprising amount of fall color still on the trees. We lucked out getting in on the tours and never had to book in advance. The only real downside was that it got dark fast. It was also a bummer that the Jefferson Memorial was such a mess (the construction) but that wasn't November's fault.
@TripHacksDC4 жыл бұрын
The construction isn't ideal but having a roof that doesn't leak is important. At least the main chamber is still open!

I’m going in May and I just hope to avoid the crowds, especially the 8th graders on field trips. I’m glad the the weather is great though! Do you think that there will still be field trippers at the end of May? (My last day is June 1st so literally the latest possible time in May.)
@TripHacksDC4 жыл бұрын
Oof the second half of May is the peak of the peak for 8th graders 😬 Sorry!

I went 6 times last year. (June for a late birthday present & a protest on two occasions, July for the Muller inquiry, October twice for the Air & Space museum in Virginia myself and another with my aunt and uncle to see the natural history & the postal musuem and finally in December to see 1917) The best month for me is June because I had a lot of daylight to see everything I wanted to see and it was a rainy day witch I enjoyed as it was cooler than normal & I didnt get sunburned and it was also the annual pride parade so I bought a trans flag as a souvenir.
@TripHacksDC4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like some great trips! June is definitely the best for those long days.

Hii, Do you have a video where you talk about what clothes it is advisable to wear? I go the first week of April, and I'm confused. Do you also have one that talks about taking the metro or other transportation from the airport? Thanks for your videos!
