mine favorite got to be the Kansbol , i graduated hunting school a few months ago and my grandpa ( who loves the Mora 2000) gifted me a Kansbol , he said that he wanted to gift me a mora 2000 but they hadnt been in stock ( my grandpa is in his mid 70s so Amazon and stuff isnt a thing for him ) . So he drove over 130 miles to buy a Present for me . I just love him .

I have an embarrassing number of Moras but I’m never too far away from one, either. All the boats, workshops, packs, and cars have one and I even got Ragnar’s unnumbered review model of the 125th Anniversary #1 before he passed away. That is a thing of beauty. The most used are a old red Craftline and an old Mora #1 which sit above my work benches. Some of these are over 30 years old but they are all used. Great gifts, too.

One robust next to the bed, one in my vehicle, and I EDC an olive drab 511. I also have a Companion stainless that I really, really like too. FWIW, I really like my Mora-made BAHCO 2444... It's pretty much a Mora Companion with a 2mm thick stainless blade, great grippy handle, and orange sheath. Can pick these up for $7-$10, and it makes a GREAT kitchen knife among many other things.

My brothers and I recieved Mora Classic No. 2 at ages 9,10, & 13 from our Norwegian father in 1968. I's very common for Scandinavian kids to have knives when they're quite young. One bother still has his, the other I don't know if so. Mine, I had until 3 years ago when my garage caught fire and It was ruined. I shoud have kept it and made a new handle for it. I now have a brand new Classic.

I have all of the following Moras: Companion HD, LightMyFire, 106, 120, 122, Garberg, and the Kansbol. The Kansbol is my most recent addition and it has quickly become my favorite. The “profile grind” and thinner blade stock make it an incredible slicer, while it still remains exceptionally capable of other bushcraft/camp tasks like carving, feather sticking, and in a pinch it could even be used to baton. All are fantastic values, but the Kansbol is a nearly perfect combination of weight, ergonomics, performance, durability and cost. 👍🏼

Orange mora companion hd carbon. It was dull when i bought it, the carbons edge dulls from exposure to air, but in less then 15 minutes of hand sharpening on a wet stone, it went from butter knife to sharpest knife I own. I used it to carve a piece of hard wood and it kept its edge for over an hour and was still plenty sharp regardless. The next sharpening was only 5 minutes and it was back to cutting through feed bags like a light saber through a Trade Federation bulkhead.

Just bought 3 of the 511 to use as boat/bait knives and a emergency truck knife for my Tacoma. First off for a cheap 10 dollar knife the blade grinds and the actual sharpness of the blades out of the bag were incredible, far better than I could have expected, handles are comfortable and the sheaths while cheap are serviceable. What more could you ask for. I will beat them up, possibly loose them and probably neglect them but I definitely won’t cry about any damage to them. It’s too early for me to tell about edge retention or the ability to resharpen but at this price it’s worth the risk.

I own MANY Mora. And I stand behind them all. If I had to grab one and trust it with my life.......it’s the Garberg. It is as tough of a knife as any and I guarantee it will outlive me. If you’re looking for a food prep/all around camp knife....then the Kansbol or the Companion is for you.....it really boils down to your blade profile preference. The Eldris is a great small blade for fine work and Bushcrafting tasks (notching and intricate carving) The craftline/511/No2 are all great choices for a knife that can handle all sorts of everyday tasks. If you were to blindly pull one of my Mora from the shelf and hand it to me.....I feel confident that, whatever knife you chose, would serve me well. They are just fantastic knives. I tend to stay away from the carbon blades because I am an avid outdoorsman and they require far less maintenance. I own a few carbon blades and they are prone to rust......you just about have to oil them after EVERY use.....and I don’t want to have to worry about that. I can leave my stainless knives strapped to the deck of a kayak and not worry one bit about rust. Just MPO FYI . See you Out There!

Started with the NO. 2? and the 511 many years ago. The 2000 came out; was and still is my favorite Mora. I like the handle better than Kansbol; same blade. That blade is also on the Forrest, with the same grip as the Black. I don't like that grip; I cut out the swell in the handle where your middle finger goes and like it much better. Garberg's are great knives, but I think the Terava 110 is a better choice. I put the Kansbol belt loop ($4) on the 510 ($14) sheath. It make a nice little rig. I've tried and use "most" of their models, I own tons of them. I've never tried the floating or the light my fire. I wish they would make the 2000 handle with the same blade design; just make it carbon; with the thickness of the Black or Garberg. I would buy a dozen of them and put them everywhere. - ha. Nice Video. Thanks!

I always throw a Mora in pack, even if I have a more expensive knife. Moras are tough, dependable, and light weight. The Robust is not full tang , but as you referenced the DBK video , it is definitely a hard use tool!

Yeah I sold my Bark Rivers, Bucks and other knives many years ago. I only kept a Fallkniven F1 that I never use. The reason is that my favourite the Mora 2000 cuts as good or better than any of those knives but more importantly, it weighs a lot less. When hiking knife is very important. Nothing beats a Mora for pure function. These days I find a Mora Eldris or Mora 120 is what I bring 99.99% of the time. Tired of how knife KZbin is full of people on desk that don’t seem to be actual outdoor people. And lots of blah blah about steel, which is completely meaningless. The steel used and heat treated by Mora is all anyone would ever need. The important thing is to have a good sharpening routine.

2 fun facts: Here in Scandianvia this type of knife is often called the moraknife. So if someone says, hand me the moraknife, it does not necessarely mean A Mora knife, just this type of "standard" knife. Probably because it is so common here. 2. I don't know if i applys to every sheet, but several of them have a hole at the bottom that has 2 purposes, obviously draining water but it also makes the sheet a great devise to blow air into a starting fire, like a funnel..

Nice video. I’ve got the Mora Companion SS, and an Eldris. The Companion lives up to its name, and I’d recommend everyone to have one as a “companion” knife to do the dirty work and finer tasks like cleaning out fish. The Eldris has a genius design, as it has eliminated the flat part of the belly of a regular knife, and therefore provides the opportunity to use it for tasks that you would use a tip of a knife for, but it does a better job at it since the “tip” is closer to your hand. I have to admit, though, that I still find myself grabbing the Companion before anything else.

My favourite is the Pro C. The hole in the bottom of the sheath suits perfect to Paracord. You insert the cord through the hole and make a stopper knot, make a loop ( bowline or Kalmyk perhaps) and you have a necklace knife without mods. I don't see any reason to mod a perfectly fine moraknife. I prefer the Pro C instead of the 511 because of the grippier feel. Both those knives gets the work done and you can abuse them really hard and they still will deliver good results.

I have a bunch of Moras among my obscene collection of knives and honestly, my favorites are the simplest. The Mora 122 sloyd is one of the best whittling/carving knives I’ve ever encountered. It’s laminated carbon/stainless steel and its the easiest of my knives to get hair whittling sharp quickly. The Eldris is a killer little all purpose blade and the classic line (carbon steel, red wooden handles) are fantastic. i had a mora 510 and i wanted to make it edc so i took a metal file and shortened the handle until the knife was 16.5 cm and then i flattened the handle until it was a bit thicker than a pencil and then i also made the handle a bit less wide so it looks nice then i made a cardboard sheeth wrapped i black tape its so small and goes in my pocket its rat tail tang but still feel really strong because the handle is so small it looks so nice and discrete i love it and want to make more like thse

I’ve had a companion ss for awhile now, I am constantly impressed with it, just started using it as my main kitchen knife and looking to get one to carry that’s a little smaller, awesome video to help me decide, I think I’ll just pick up one of the craftline models.

What I value most about a knife is quality steel. It should hold an edge and sharpen easily. I have other knife shaped objects to use for prying, scraping and other rough work. But I have two I keep razor sharp for actually cutting things. An Opinel for my pocket and a Mora for long tasks. Both in carbon steel.

I bought my first morakniv and I stuck it in my hunting back pack. A week ago I got my deer and I forgot my usual gutting knife so I used the mora and it cut thru the deer like a hot knife thru butter I know own another and retired my buck

Mora 2000 is probably my favourite. A lot of people seem to think that Mora only ever made “cheap” knives. That’s very far from the truth. They have made various premium knives through the decades. The Laplander comes to mind but also other hunting knives in the 70’s and earlier.

I have two companion sparks, an Eldris and one Garberg. All stainless. I am fond of everything Swedish, I come from a long Swedish heritage.

I was looking to get the old $200 cold steel SRK. I picked up $45 in Mora knives, no regrets.

All Moras are great, but for trekking and hiking I prefer the Mora 2000 in combination with a Mora Companion HD and the Eldris with profile grind.

Mora Classic nr3 and the Eldris are my favorites I got an old classic nr3 with almost 16cm long blade, I love and prefer carbon over stainless even if the blade is getting wet.
