I got the Velomacchi 40 Liter backpack for review. Overall I think the backpack is super slick. The one problem I have and it could just be me, is the rivet section digs into my clavicle. I would like to see them have some padding over the metal. I think that would fix the issue. I am using it for cycling and not wearing a thick jersey. It probably wouldn't matter if I had a motor cycle jacket on.

Highly recommend checking out the Peak Design Everyday Backpack - it's a camera bag but fully functional as a riding bag as well as everyday use - I use mine on my Harley or Cafe for rides well over three hours and find it very comfortable even when fully loaded

Excellent review Bo, I might buy this backpack for riding as my current standard one keeps flapping around at high speeds.
@Youknowthebo7 жыл бұрын
+Kriss Rog thanks, Kriss. Yeah, it's really annoying when the bag flaps around at high speeds. Dangerous too to some degree. The velomacchi is great, but be aware of the caveats that I mentioned in the video. I will review a Kriega bag in the future as well

You can get a Nike shoe box in there?? That's a lot bigger than I expected... Seems like I'm getting a new backpack for daily commute. Great review!
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Hey Bernie. You can fit a shoebox in there, but as I said in the video: Due to the Abrasion resistant material (which is very stiff and doesn't have much give) it can get cumbersome to fit bigger items into it. Nevertheless, it is an awesome backpack that I love to wear on my motorbike

+Kevin Ankin the silver one looks the best. But I think the yellow limited edition one was pretty awesome as well. You should take a look at the motodemic headlight for the xsr900. It's pretty dope. Unfortunately they don't have one shaped for the mt07

How would you compare this to kriega’s r20?
@Youknowthebo3 жыл бұрын
I only tested to older version of the Kriega (Review on my channel as well). I prefer the velomacchi over the Kriega for it's better harness system and looks. The features (ie. compartments) are also more useful on the Velomacci compared to the Kriega that I tested.

Do you use bike only for short trips around country and longer trips or do you also use it as transportation around the city. If yes I'm interested how do you handle helmet and other gear if you are meeting with friends, shopping etc.
@Youknowthebo7 жыл бұрын
+Dejan Omasta hey Dejan. At the moment I only use the bike for two to three hour trips outside the city. I want to use the bike for short trips like going to work or meeting friends as well, but I haven't done so yet. Because I still only have my "big" riding gear. I just got myself some riding sneakers and some protective abrasion resistant long John's to wear underneath my normal clothes. I want a "normal" looking riding jacket with protection too, and then I will use the bike for those trips as well. As for handling the gear, I will probably always carry a backpack and just put gloves or other gear inside. And I will carry the helmet everywhere I go, since I don't want anyone to steal or mess with it

I know this is for a motor cycle, but I use an electric skateboard to commute that goes around 25 mph. I recently got into an accident that sent my sliding on my back. Thankfully my backpack took the brunt, but it wasn’t cheap (250$) and now has a bunch of holes in it. Would you recommend this for any type of transportation besides cars and busses? If not, are there any other options that have abrasion resistant materials?
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Hey Hamza! I hope you weren't injured in that accident. I wish you all the best. The velomacchi and the Kriega are the only bags that are supposed to be highly abbrasion resistant. But obviously I haven't tested it myself, and hopefully I will never get into an accident to test it out. I think Velomacchi's harness system should be awesome on a board. it allows you a lot of movement and feels like nothing on your back (at least with all my gear on). So I would assume that it is great on your back whilst riding an electric skateboard.

Great Review! I have been looking for a bag that will work well with my motorcycle both worn and strapped to the bike and considered this bag (that is how I came across your channel a little while ago). From what you have experienced with this bag and seen of their duffel do you have any thoughts on it?
@Youknowthebo7 жыл бұрын
+Lamar Fowler thanks, Lamar. I have the duffel as well. I have been testing it out for a couple of times. The harness system on the duffel is not as good as on the rolltop, but considering the size of the bag this had to be anticipated. Overall the duffel seems to be very useful on the bike. But it gets very heavy when you walk around with it.

So I work in an office and need to carry my laptop and a few papers or files and I have an additional small 7”x7” tech bag that carries my usual stuff like ssd’s, pens, checkbooks cables, etc.. the laptop always stays in a external padded sleeve - Would you think this would make a good work bag for this??
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
I think the oppose this invisible backpack is a good choice. It has a very toned down design that looks cool and good in the office even with a suit Imho. And it has a lot of compartments that are kinda visually hidden. I reviewed the old version and they updated it since back then. But it also was in my favorite bags 1.0 video

Would you reccomend the 28l or 40l? I dont plan on carrying a whole bunch on a daily basis but I've read that the 28l is a little small. I also noticed that 40l has straps on the outside which allow you to compress the bag when its not fully packed. Do you have any experience with the 40l Velomacchi? Also would you reccomend the Velomacchi or another backpack? Im a new rider looking for a great sturdy backpack.
@Youknowthebo6 жыл бұрын
Hey, Yes, the 28L is rather small in practice. This is due to the fact, that the material is rather stiff (for safety reasons: It will not flutter in the wind and has higher abression resistance) and therefore loading stuff can get limiting. I haven't tested the 40L but I have the Duffel or have ridden with 40L bags. What you need to keep in mind is that a bigger bag can limit your movement on the bike a bit depending on your height. I am 170cm so my back isn t that long. Therefore the bigger bag actually sits on my pilion seat. Which then again takes away some of the weight but also makes shoulderchecks a bit more difficult. Furthermore a bigger bag can catch sidewinds more easily. What do you want to carry on a day to day basis? Maybe I can better evaluate if the 28L bag will be sufficient enough for you

I'm wondering the same thing, plan to use to carry 1-2 textbooks, a notebook, lunch and water bottle. Maybe a few small extras
