I respect your opinion and you are free to say whatever you like. But please keep in mind that I live in a different country than you are. So it is safe to assume situations might differ. In my previous Statement I mentioned that not masking up spreads viruses if you are sick. My issue was with people who were clearly sick and coughing and sneezing, that would not mask up while standing close to other persons. I did not say that not masking up is the cause of COVID. My issue was with spreading it. Especially with the person's here in Germany who were obviously sick and did not care for the people around them. But again: you are entitled to your opinion and it is sad that you took my statement this way.

The strap looks comfortable but the padded area is not central so it sits correctly on the shoulder. But then what happens if you move the sling to your front? Is the padded area then not on your shoulder? Does that make sense? 😅

I’m a musician and fly often. I have a bass guitar on my back and I use this weekender. I like that it’s solid. I tried the Pakt duffel V2. I like the way it loads better but it’s too floppy. I use a garment folder for dress clothes. I stand it inside next to laptop compartment. I I agree that the AER looks big. I’m always trying to use it as my personal item, so you have to be careful how you pack it. I’ve been lucky so far. It’s too big really for under the seat. Crowded enough for most bags anyway. Thanks

Feels like we are just in travel storage circle: briefcase -> backpack -> fannypack -> messenger -> backpack -> sling -> tote -> briefcase?

Not sure what you are asking. Can you elaborate?
@jbenjeep
@jbenjeep Күн бұрын
@@Youknowthebo Not asking really, merely speculating if we are coming full circle in how we choose to carry our gear. The next step from a tote bag almost seems to go back to the messenger, and from there maybe the briefcase. I find it interesting how we have evolved in our choice over the past few decades.

Having kids, I think about what my screen use tells them. I don't want them to see me looking at my phone more than them or think my phone is more important than they are. They have been given permission to ask me to put down my phone. Sometimes I can't because, e.g., I am working but they are a good reminder that I have more important things to spend my time on.
@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo Күн бұрын
Really like this thought. I actually read that due to the fact kids not understanding the concept of looking at a phone, they can perceive "parents looking at their phone" as "parents ignoring them". So I think it is a good idea to reduce screen on time while kids are around

I have a Moment Tech Tote and love it. It was perfect as a personal item on a flight just recently. I agree that it might be uncomfortable having the hand straps on your shoulder for a longer period of time. I use a cross shoulder strap for those occasions and even added a shoulder strap pad that’s designed for guitars to ease the load which makes it much more comfortable. This also allows you to have both hands free and swing the bag to your front to access whatever you need.

Don't see many guys in my town carrying a tote bag tbh. Women, they carry totes and have for years. My mum had a plain black handbag that looked like the one in this video way back in the 90s (eta- it was a Kate Spade brand and had little metal studs on the bottom. I can still hear the sound it made when she would put it on the kitchen worktop, that's where she kept it. She's long passed now.. a nice memory this video brought back 😁) I can't carry totes though, tote back packs I'm good with, but feel unbalanced carrying tote mode for too long.

I have both the Bravo and Elements tote from Alpaka and now I'm really thinking about getting this because it's a perfect hybrid between those 2. I love the Elements but it's too open, so I feel a bit unsafe leaving my stuff in there or spilling something and the Bravo is perhaps a bit overengineered and heavy for casual use, this one seems a perfect blend of both worlds. Is this tote heavy? I always have a tote for work, but as a complement to a backpack. to pack weirdly shaped things but totes are amazing for casual use, really easy access and versatility. I became a tote person but I will never stop using backpacks, I simply love any type of bag.

I actually recently purchased the bravo tote as well as the alpaca tech pouch. I myself am not a tote person at all, I usually use a sling or a backpack when I travel. The bravo tote fit my exact meeds. I do photo shoots from time to time, despite how heavy it can get with load. It is an extremely comfy bag. The metro tote looks really good too, it is a nice middle ground among their 3 tote bags

Just got my GR2 34L in the star shrapnel pattern the other week, been using it all week with an alpaka tech max case for organization inside. my new paka is that deep purple, with orange interior, replaced zipper pulls with green ones, and strap with a green one, friend did some embroid work on that says NERV, EVANGELION, etc. My v4 wont be back for a few weeks, but had all the red converted to green, black stuff rekoted in a vibrant deep purple, and alot of stuff in copper orange to have that whole eva colorway haha. Having a custom made motorcycle harness chest rig made to hold my phone, edc stuff easy to access like flashlight, medical, etc. Finally got something to go over my armor for when I ride, and my leathers, which makes me go up a size in some clothing to cover armor, and chest rig. Now about to build a metric tool kit for my hijet, and my R1 to share as I use it to tow stuff to the track. Importing in a new hilux champ thats LHD from philippines to swap cab and bed onto a u.s. tacoma truck to replace my tired hijet haha

In terms of comfort, how would you rate between this Alpaka Go Sling Nano, Evergoods CAS2 , and Bellroy Chimera Sling? Which would you recommend if only 1 bag is allowed?
@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo 5 күн бұрын
Good question. In terms of comfort the Chimera has the most padded strap and therefore is the most comfortable. But it is also the biggest of the three. If I had to choose between the three it would be a draw between the Evergoods cas2.5 and the go sling nano. If I had to carry a bit more the cas has the edge. But overall the smaller go sling nano is the one I grab more often because I don't want a big bag with me

Been using the GR1 slick for years after I saw your original video. Went with the 21 but kinda wish I'd gone with the bigger (27L?). Saw the GR2 and really considered it but it feels like a bit too much for most days. One question I have for 1 bag travelers is what do you do when you get to your destination? I mean, I'd want my GR1 for day trips traveling but putting it inside a GR2 feels strange.

Currently I favor the 40l Patagonia Black Hole Duffel. The straps are interchangeable with the checked size of the same duffel, and the bags stow smaller than the other options in those capacities. I don’t use built-in compartments. Fixed compartments seldom denominate the volume the way I need; they just result in an inefficient pack. I have found that packing cubes, poly bags, etc, result in better compartmentalization and a better experience. That might not look as good, but it works better.

I like the Peak Design original travel backpack. Has served me well since 2019. It’s got a good balance between organisation and a big open part, and I enjoy the side access to that. If I need to haul more I go with the North Face duffel 50L. Neither of these had excellent shoulder straps, but I’m not hiking with them. I appreciate the way the straps fold away on the PD, and there’s a hip belt for longer carries but you forget it’s there in the mean time. For a shorter trip I sometimes use the Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault pack - it’s a bit “tacticool” but I really like how it’s configured and the access is awesome. And you really can hike with the MR 2DAP, it’s very comfortable.

I have the same problem with my fisher AG7 space pen right from opening the box, and it virtually unusable.😂 I ditched the fisher original refill, and replace it with a BIC Cristal original refill and/or Schneider Slider Edge refill, with cutting to shorten the ink catridge, and paper tap wrapping at some point of the refill for the AG7 spring to have something to hold on, and the problem is solved. Considering i don't write in water, nor on oiled paper, nor upsidedown, nor in zero gravity, so the new modded refills works like a charm for me, for cheap dirt price, and much much smoother than the fisher original refill.😊
