At the end of those steps to the church, its a long way up would take one a decent time just to walk up those stairs. The church effect is almost a castle effect. The structure of it that words cant explain..... After the ride to the camp site would have expected more trees.... maybe a river in it or a stream.....

We are lucky enough to have an apartment in a place called Sao Martinho Do Porto an hour north of Lisbon on the Silver Coast. Portugal is the best kept biking secret in Europe. Great roads, amazing coastline, and (mainly) sensible drivers on quiet roads. Last month me and two mates flew into Lisbon and hired Tracer 7 GT's for 5 days. Rode up to our place and had a series of outstanding ride outs every day. Flying and hiring is a great alternative to the expensive ferry. Flights and bike hire was still about £300 less per person than the ferry, fuel and stop off accommodation would have been. Great series so far, subscribed!

Wow your a lucky man to have a place there Dave, we have visited allot of Europe now and Portugal has been our favourite place to go by far. We can’t wait to go back again. We did fly and hire in Sicily a couple years ago, we left the uk in January in the sleet and rain and a couple hours later we were in the sunshine! Awesome

I see where I made my mistake in thinking that one of your opening shots was of a church in Braga. The shot of the magnificent terracing leading up to the church in Lamego is very similar to the one in Braga. Perhaps it’s a common feature in Portugal, though I can’t begin to think of the cost involved in these projects? Anyhow you’ve got me interested in trying out the N2 sometime. I’ve stayed in Chaves a few times and I’ve biked Portugal north to south, but never simply stuck to the N2. Great video again incidentally!

Rubber gloves & chain lube just takes a few minutes with a centre stand. Ive been touring for years and it’s no problem. If the weather is dry, once every 500 miles will do.

Yes, so I always service the bikes before a trip like this. Oils, filters etc, lubricate all your cables and deep clean the bikes. I recommend the clean because you’ll be up close and hands on with the bike for a few hours and you’ll likely find any developing problems, loose nuts etc. Check your chain and tyres and be sure they are in good nick. I replaced my chain before this trip. You will need to clean and lube and adjust your chain on a long trip like this, carry the tools to do it with you and small cans of cleaner or lube if you have space if not you’ll buy it on the road. I think in the upcoming episode we do just this…

If i may ask, how’s that GPS working out for ya? Im looking for an good GPS system and didnt find one yet
@ontheroadadventure9 ай бұрын
Upto now it’s worked well but in Spain and Portugal it doesn’t seem to be very accurate, we updated them here for this reason but Google maps seems to be best here

Guys please do some research. If you had bought a Vango Galaxy tent That's just for starters. Please do better research for happier camping x
@ontheroadadventure9 ай бұрын
Why is that that tent better than what we have? I have to say we have no complaints on our kit other than being a little cold at night, perhaps a smaller tent would warm a bit more with body heat but we went for extra space and comfort. We will likely try out other tents though, we suspect tents are like bikes, one is never enough!

Hey Eddie, when we look for the camp sites we are staying at we go on Google and check the reviews, this gives us the best chance but mostly they are ok… We play a game called Camp site or Camp shite? 😂
