bisonatemymom well in My Fair Lady she was changed in a way that she was educated and that gave her way more prospects than toiling in the mud as a dingy flower girl. There's nothing wrong with bettering yourself and even after that she still wants to marry who she wants to marry, not what other's would want her to do.

Eric already technically liked her as she was(since he wanted to find the girl who rescued her, which is who she originally was) she wants to become human so she can survive in the in the human world. When Eric thought she was human(that's when she was physically transformed and didn't have her voice) he wasn't really romantically interested in her and sall her as a friend. Sure he was probably attracted to her cause she was a pretty girl, but not romantically. It wasn't until they were on the boat and she got turned back into a mermaid(her original form) they he knew he was in love with her. You sound very superficial if that's all you take from that.

bisonatemymom also I'd like to add that this isn't true at all for Clueless or Earth Girls Are Easy. First of all Clueless is about mental change, not about physical change. Cher learns that the problems isn't Tai's physical appearance, but that its Cher's attitude towards others is(I'm not even a big fan of the movie, but come on) Also Earth Girl's Are Easy isn't about getting a makeover(or at least a physical one anyway)or about her changing her physical appearance. Its a musical comedy that parodies these types of movies. She gets a "makeover" in order to get her finance to be more interested in her physically, but it doesn't work since he brings another woman home to cheat in her with since he thinks she's away at a make up convection. She kicks him out of the house, but even after that wants to make up with him. Her "makeover" is her realizing she doesn't need to be with him and decides she loves the Alien guy.

bisonatemymom also in Now, Voyager, was actually about a girl who was having a nervous breakdown due to having a controlling and emotionally abusive older mother(who didn't want her and had her in her 40's) her "makeover" was physical, emotional, and mental. She dressed the way she did before because her mother wanted her to dress that way, the way she dressed after was how she wanted to dress(no glasses, losing weight, more fashionable clothing and shoes)

@@sophiagardos2620 I agree, but the way movies go about it is that men start paying attention after the makeover. Most of the scenes they showed were men being shocked and attracted to these women after their makeover. Most of them were given a makeover so they won't be "ugly", basically changing the way they look in order to please other people. It's entertaining watching these movies, some are my favorite but you still have to look into it lmao.
