I actually disagree, many peopel who learn English as second language do so while hearing all kinds of accents. You notice the differences between accents much more, which in turn makes it easier to imitate. And English accents also are quite fun and diverse, the diversity is unique.

He put incredible effort into that. He and Niki Lauda spoke about it in a few interviews, because Lauda spoke in a unique way, Daniel had to try hard to replicate all of his mannerisms and also explore his character and motivation. While Lauda felt he came across worse than he'd have liked, he did say that Daniel nailed the performance, and Niki Lauda was a difficult man to impress.

Never seen him as a leading actor in a movie yet, but all of his supporting roles are great. Two other actors came to mind aswell, Viggo Mortensen who speaks either 7/8 languages (I think elvish is counted lol), and also Christoph Waltz who im pretty sure speaks atleast 4 languages. All three phenomenal actors.
