We didn't know what to expect from our 4-night Murray River cruise aboard the P.S. Emmylou paddle steamer but we were absolutely blown away!
Incredible food, fantastic people, great tours. It has to be one of the best ways to travel Australia!

Excellent video. Echuca and the old boats are wonderful. But I would recommend that you cruise down the Murray through South Australia. Huge cliffs and beautiful wetlands. Go on the Murray Princess 7 night Upper Murray cruise. The Murray there is so different to what you have seen at Echuca. Safe travels!

That struck a chord. Several millennia ago when my wife and got married, we thought about that paddle steamer (or a similar one, it was multi-night anyway) for our honeymoon. We went to a travel agent (cos that's what you did back then) who was aghast at the idea, saying we'd be the youngest people on the boat by a generation at least. So we didn't. Probably should have, it looked awesome.

Right!? the food was incredible. Yeah the cost to travel in Australia can get insane, especially when you can get super affordable flights to places where tourism is a fraction of the price!
