Bravery does exist in horses. Just not like people think. Different breeds are likely to hold their ground better than others. For example, an Arabian is more likely to buck you around a predator than an MFT but they will both eventually buck you off.

Although an arabian can still be incredibly brave. I owned the black one for a while and the only thing he threw me around was cougars/panthers. Eventually sold him to buy a black standardbred

I keep going back to my Dark Bay Turkoman. I love the look of it with the Beaver Saddle. I know the Nacho Saddle is best but looks matter to me. The horse looks great and its stats on health, speed and acceleration is great.

I love the Norfolk Roadster, however my favourite is the Turkoman purely because I love fighting on horseback, so the full health with the speed is something that I always look for with horses, also I've had my Turkoman for ages and still love him, however I do also ride the Norfolk Roadster, just not often for bounties

I actually just got rid of my black Arabian, her name was Olive. I replaced her with the Perlino Andalusian, and named her Butterscotch. I prefer war horses. If I sneezed, somehow, Olive would hear it in the tv, and throw off my character.

The chocolate roan dutch warmblood is my favorite!! Its health and stamina are great, its speed is good enough, and its not skittish. I have one myself and i love her. I named her Flame, and she runs down every rabbit she sees 🤪

Here's a couple helpful suggestions when navigating our horses as clumsy as they are very frustrating, when going through trees I have my controller set for a double tap configuration on double tap configuration off the horse has four speeds walk Trot Canter run when running through trees double tap on a button and that the horse tickets path through the trees let go of left stick and the horse will pick the best route possible, and won't run into a park tree. 2. When going after Legendary animals especially the apex predators, equip ability cards slow and steady and unblinking eye which when activated the horse can only walk it won't Buck you off you should have enough time with the unblinking eye to sedate or dispatch legendary apex predator very effective. 3. But this is where I would say most of the people failed to follow through myself included, as soon as the horse senses a threat, the horse will give you one of three cues to the ears the tale or his stance will change to agitated and that's when you want to tap left stick down to calm your horse before the audiobook you if you wait till the audiobooks you you're going to have to calm him several more times and the chances of getting bucked off are far greater then if you hit the cue on perfect timing with the horse and you won't get bucked off, the horse will maintain a cool composure as you deal with the threats, very effective works well in combat 2 It is sad the biggest part of this game in the RDR online world is focused around the horse that is the biggest weapon you have and the biggest Ally you have in this game now if we can just get Rockstar to somehow fix the horses in the right perspective way we spend so much time with them they are the center of the focus of the game and a nice level-headed horse is a lot more enjoyable then the current dumb down Rockstar version of a horse, yeah I don't see a fix for the horses anytime soon well not from Rockstar and especially after the release of Outlaw pass 5 with no content or roll expansions or solo missions or any DLC for that matter anyway that's another subject, hope that helps

Imagine a horse showing role or something, where you have an estate with like an ungodly amount of stables and basically just buy horses and do rdo-ified forms of dressage, free roam races with npcs and etc

Absolutely love the Klad, my first more 'expensive' horse, its huge so I tower over everyone else + its SO good in combat. I always take my Klad if I expect predators or shooting. It never bucks me off, even if an Alligator or Panther is on us. ♥ Love my Avalanche :)

The stats aren't great, but I love my Hungarian Halfbred. She's so big. And she's the only one I have that I have seen rear in panic when bumrushed by a wolf pack, but when she reared she kicked one, and it yipped and ran away. And, I still didn't get bucked.

They're mostly the same. Stamina, health and handling. As far as bravery, nah... it comes and goes - there are mechanics at work behind the scenes. Just get a decent horse you love the look of. I have a number of favorites from over the last 2+ years and could mention them all, but my favorite is the Splashed Bay Gypsy Cob... high health, high stamina, good handling, nearly as fast as the fast ones. Great all-rounder. The Piebald Roan Roadster is the prettiest of them all though. :)

Yep. I think the buckskin is weirdly yellow? Dun and Buckskin are probably more strongly associated with mustangs than any other breed, but they look fine on the other horses. Oh well, I love my mustard pon.

I got a mustang thinking it would be good, the most scared horse I've ever owned in rdr2 lol. She'd be quiet as a mouse and then suddenly throw me into the mouth of a bear and run far away to never be seen again on bonding lvl 4. Got a turkoman afterwards and he was way better, didn't mind predators at all as long as I danced around them enough or got him fast enough away from them but would still buck me - at least after warning me beforehand though. Owning a Mft right now and he's fearless, he got balls of steel that horse. Got rushed by the legendary bear and slow and steady ran out, he just danced around nervously while the bear circled us - never bucking. Absolutely in love with the mft now lol

My turk and mustang are scaredy cats - with my mustang being the biggest and my turk always warning me and giving me some time before bucking but my missouri fox trotter got balls of steel. He got rushed by the legendary bear and slow and steady ran out at that exact time. Was so sure he'd buck me off and I'd get mauled but nah. he just complained a lot while the bear was running around us until I killed it lol. I know bravery is apparently not a thing but still, def prefer my mft who doesnt mind the wild animals lol

I picked up a buckskin mustang. Very solid stats but he's clumsy and crashes into everything. Spooks pretty easily. I also have a new gray coat turkoman. Much easier to ride and fight off of.

I have a American Standarbreed, that once stood his ground against a legendary panther (the one at LaGras). Which was even more remarkable 'cause i missed nealy half of my shoots. Maybe i should've get off and let him deal with the kitty alone...who knows ;-) Also I do think that bravery is kind of a hidden stat. If you continue to take care of it (even after bonding at max level) you are less likely to get backed of. Horses you take from the stable, that haven't been ridden for a long time seem to be more anxious too. Throughout the history of "modern" mankind there has been a deep cultural connection to horses. Imho Red Dead does a great job in reflecting that. ...oh, and by the way...TURKOMANs 4ever!!! mine: El Cid (dark bay) and Corazón (black)

ALL HORSES HAVE BEEN NERFED.. when the game first came out, the description in the book basically said that the Turkoman is a very intelligent horse, brave, and gets bored easily. It will wander off if you don’t pay enough attention to it. Now, even the war horses start freaking out over one varmint rifle shot. Either rockstar Nerfed the horses, or some idiot hacked into the game trying to make their piss poor horse the fastest horse in the game, and totally fucked everything up. The number one thing rockstar needs to do. Fix the goddamn horses. Put the horses back the way they were. Every breed had its own style and personality, bravery etc. Now, they’re all pretty much the same except for stats and color. It’s pathetic. It’s like GTA five where all the cars have pinto engines in them. Worthless.

Unfortunately the horses are pretty much all the same as far as health and stamina, how ever so slight they do 10 to show slight different characteristics Cold Blood vs warm blooded vs. Hot blood in their personalities however so slight. Horses have a very unique monocular vision which gives them incredible foresight they can see things us humans can't see even with the best artificial AIDS available. But horses lose the excellent foresight when it comes to their hindsight as division is no longer monocular and independent which is why oftentimes you'll see a horse spook and Bolt a fair distance and usually will do a 180 to focus in with the foresight on the spooky object to where the horse can clearly see if it's a friend or Foe. Horses don't run into park rocks or Parked trees buildings, it's just Rockstar making the horses dumb down and stupid when it comes to these things and their total lack of understanding or Horse Sense oh, they just don't understand how a horse thinks and interacts with the world, so until Rockstar hires a knowledgeable person that understands or better yet works with horses on a daily basis I fix all the broken horses in RDR oh, I just don't see that happening anytime soon.
