I'm so happy I found this channel. I'm obsessed with pens in general - from luxury fountain pens and high-end ballpoints to very high quality everyday pens that cost a few bucks. Too many channels focus just on fountain pens - and while I love my fountain pens, there are others that are pleasurable and often times even more practical to use as well. Keep up the videos!

Never felt to need to purchase any other TWSBI pen after I got my hands on a Diamond Mini. Perhaps if I had a lot of writing to do I might've considered the ECO or GO as they have a larger reservoir. I'm quite happy with my Mini and don't feel the need for another TWSBI, unless of course the company offered the Mini in white with rose gold appointments. I prefer the more "playful" look of the clear Pilot Kakuno over the Preppy as well as its larger grip section. Its downside is it cannot be converted to an eyedropper pen without modification. I'm surprised to say that I do like the Zebra X-701 knowing how much I don't like the F-701. I like the all-black but could do without the Lanyard loop. If it doesn't accept an alternative refill with decent ink, I'll have to pass. I had wanted the Jotter XL in Greenwich Matte Green but decided to pass on it as I'm not crazy about the classic arrow-shaped clip. Thanks for the video!

Ali - I agree about the TWSBI mini - terrific pen. I also like the ECO, but was really disappointed with the GO. If you do get another TWSBI, the ECO is your best bet and it holds a ton of ink.

Speedbird, I'm someone who always posts my caps. It's become a habit really, not to mention it makes losing a cap a nonissue. Because of these reasons, I've chosen not to buy an Eco as the pen is too long (6.3 inches posted) to write comfortably. Also, the red logo on the top of the cap bothers me. I find the Eco pen to be a great gift for anyone who's required to do a lot of writing; however, your average U.S. resident utilizes either a ballpoint, rollerball, or gel pen. I got a coworker to try my Mini today. She found the writing experience odd. She fumbled around trying to line up the pen to paper to get the pen to write. To the Mini's credit, she loved the look of the pen.

On my preppy highlighter i removed the information printed on the barrel with 99% ethanol and a bit of scrubbing with tissue :) looks amazing now.

The Rotring knocks the Zebra out of the park. The construction is better in every conceivable way, and it uses standard refils.

Zebra will release different colors in its grand line that includes green, dark grey, orange, mahogany, light blue, and matte silver--I have them all right now. In South Korea the grand comes in pastel colors that I still need.

Just received an order I placed from China via AliExpress which included the Grand in green, wine red, light pink, sky blue, and white, each costing $12.99. Took close to a month to arrive but was worth the wait. Just saw the matte gray, red, and navy on eBay; very nice.

Dzevad, I was once of the same opinion regarding both the clip and the window. The clip is a bit chunky. Perhaps if it were made of a thin aluminum it would be less top heavy. The clip has since grown on me which I feel gives the pen its character. I also never understood why the window was placed so far from the tip. The current location doesn't help to see if the refill is about to be empty. To avoid the pen from losing its looks, I would rather see the window be made smaller and placed on the underside of the pen or a translucent ring placed around the pen (preferred of the two) to make it possible to see low ink levels. There are definitely ways to improve on this pen.

Too bad the X-701 doesn't allow for the standard refill. It'd be a nice inexpensive option. But still, for pants pocket carry, like the small standard or original regular Parker Jotter, you may not cry so much if it slips out of your pocket.

Aren’t pens all about the writing quality? I was getting interested in the superb construction of the rotrings but then to discover they are housing a basic Parker refill? What’s the point? No sarcasm intended but might as well get a basic Bic clicker. 🤷‍♂️

Do you think the 800 has a mechanism more prone to failing and not being able to be repaired(like by me) than the 600? Considering the 600 is simpler.

Problem with Jotter XL is that other companies already did bigger versions of the original Jotter (like Diplomat Equipment, which is around 5 Euro mark, all-metal or metal-plastic).

@@unsharpen I think it is more about how long it took Parker to make bigger Jotter than price alone. Maybe they thought having Parker IM ballpoint is enough?

To people who are planning to buy rotring. If you are planning to buy 600(0.7mm or below) just buy rapid pro instead. (If you are going to buy rollerball or 2.0mm, 600 is better)
