Hands down best channel for ui design tutorials on youtube. Thank you so much for your time and effort, really has helped me progress.

I have a lot of experience using XD but it's mainly in static website design. I have watched many prototyping videos and this is absolutely the best and clearest tutorial yet. The lightbulb moment for me was just under 11:30:00 when you explain what the program does and how it interprets the animation. This explains why other tutorials group and name things but they don't even come close explaining why to do this and how it is necessary. Thank you so much for making this short and sweet video! (Also, many others are too long with extra fluff and dead time.)

Question - How to just slide the banner images and not the whole artboard? All my elements (main menu bar + all others) get slide when I prototype 2 artboards, Is there a way to just slide the banner images and not the whole artboards?

How to get these pink guidelines as you did at 2:09 .. and how to position a layer using the shortcut. I know it's Ctrl + Shift + [ for bottommost and Ctrl + Shift + ] for the topmost position but if I want to position it under or over just one layer? I hope my question is clear :)
@CalerEdwards6 жыл бұрын
Holding alt/option while you have an element selected while give you those pink guides. Also the shortcut is cmd + [ to send backward one layer. cmd + shift + [ to send all the way to back. Same goes for sending it to front. Hope that helps :D

Hi...Looking for a tutorial for auto-animate on a continuous scroll. For example: I have a few elements that I want to auto animate in from the left or right as a user scrolls down the page. I'm using most of the techniques in this tutorial, (timed animations, sliding things off to the side of the artboard, opacity etc.) However, I noticed the scroll is a bit glitchy. Is there a way to make this more seamless, or is this a software issue. Could you do a tutorial for that? This is definitely the best tutorial I've found so far :)

The time trigger doesn't always pop up in the drop down. If I connect the first two the next one defaults to tap, drag, or voice. Any experiencing the same problem

Yes. Similar issue

I got the solution to the time trigger issue. Click at the Artboard and then link. Don't Click on the elements of the page.
@ivanbadia32326 жыл бұрын
You have to select the artboard an object can’t use Time Triggers. Is a silly thing to ignore when I would like to make an object move on different timelines. My biggest complaint with the software a Locked Object doesn’t really lock. So, if you use the plugin Guide Guide it will create an object the full width and height of your artboard. Every time I want to select an object below I have to control/alt select it. I posted this request on Beta and The Dev team has ignored this critalnpart of any design software.

Thank you so much for another fantastic tutorial, Caler. I'd like to know how I can incorporate this technique into an image gallery on one specific artboard/webpage? I am struggling to find a demo on this specific task. Thanks.

Good content, but a bit too fast for me as a beginner. You simply lost me during the duplication section as adjusting the fill doesn't give a solid background.
