When I read Say Nothing I started crying when he listed the names of the disappeared. The fact that it is just so few compared to other countries and their "disappeared", I really felt that weight.

When Women Ruled the World was great. Never heard of The Patient Assassin or Into Siberia! Both sound really good! Happy new year Kiran!!

The book about pockets sounds interesting. Can't tell you how many times I've seen my wife and other women I know be excited about a dress having pockets lol. The way you described the book about Connie Converse was VERY interesting. I've never heard of her, but her story sounds extremely compelling. I agree with you that it's sad to think about all the people in the world who are never given the chance. I remember reading "Say Nothing" years ago on a whim shortly after it came out. I had zero interest in Ireland, but the book was so well done. I'm not mad at all that it became so popular.

While i love my litfic i also hold a burning flame for some fun nonfic and try to make my ratio as close to 50/50 throughout the year but it usually ends up more 60/40, favoring the fic. HNY Kiran 😘🥂
