Beautiful and diverse. Loved the Polar bears in the deserted home

I can't believe the high standard attained but I particularly love the polar bear story - thank you very much for bringing these to us. A very Merry Christmas to all from NZ.

Hey Graham The bear story is so original and fresh - I've never seen anything like it. Happy Happy Christmas to you too

4:22 Majid Hojjat's landscape photo reminds me of Hashem Shakeri's award-winning series "Cast Out Of Heaven". The following image is reminiscent of some "New Topographics" photographs, specifically the one by Stephen Shore “U.S. 97, south of Klamath Falls, Oregon, July 21, 1973.” with a billboard.

You're right - I probably had Shaken's work in mind when I chose that image, but you are right the juxtaposition works exactly like Shore's.

🇺🇦 Bucha photo (3:42) is very dramatic especially given the context: war crimes and atrocities that Russians committed there against civilians (rape of children, women, executions, looting)

I can't believe that horror is still going on...dreadful.

Thanks for featuring a Ukrainian photographer Yelena Yemchuk and her book ODESA. Her photographs look like Rineke Dijkstra's portraits of youth some of which were taken in the city of Odesa, at the Black Sea in Ukraine.

Hi Rostyk She has a very easygoing approach - I really like her work.

Thanks Graeme. I can’t wait for your Saul Leiter talk…a favorite of mine. Three books I picked up this year were Alec Soth’s “A Pound of Pictures”, Irina Rozovsky’s “In Plain Sight” and “Brooklyn” by Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb.

Yes, Saul Leiter is a real original. I just googled Irina's work - such a good idea and very nicely done. Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb make such a good team - their photographs really work well together. Thanks.
