Hey there! We’re Cary and Cris. Earlier this year we decided to quit our jobs and leave our beautiful island of Kauai to pursue a life of full-time travel. Being ex-chefs, our worlds pretty much revolve around food and beverage. So, we thought it would be fun to take you with us as we eat, drink, and explore the world.

Hi! Few things: The "Lion bridge" in the list is actually the Chain Bridge. Its full name is Széchenyi Lánchíd. (according to English pronunciation approx.: secheni). The castle also has a courtyard with lions. The castle quarter was once really a construction for military purposes. There were also battles, in 1668 practically all medieval buildings were destroyed. After that, there were only two in 1849 and in the winter of 1944/1945. But during the last two , the area was no longer for military purposes. One of the Hungarian meanings of the word vár is the english fort. There are many recipes for goulash, practically as many as there are people who make them. The same is true for paprika chicken, fish soup ( halászlé) , and stew (the latter is called goulash in many places, but Hungarian goulash is always soup.) There are also many ways of serving, boiled potatoes or nokedli are traditional. Nokedli is a boiled dough consisting of small irregular dumplings. It is customary to serve some kind of pickled vegetables (cabbage, cucumber, onion, unripe tomatoes, unripe small melons) as well. If the dish might not be spicy enough, you can ask for spicy salt pepper cream. We simply call this erős pista (strong stevie) It was originally the name of a product, but now we call all similar things that way. This cream is mixed with raw ground paprika salt. There are places where they give it without asking. In other places, they offer small dried peppers on the side. Use it carefully because it can be funny.. :) Serving in bread is a new thing. However, there is also a folk tale about using bread as a spoon. King Matthias (after whom the church is named) invited his favorite shepherd to his palace for lunch. The soup was served, the shepherd discovers that he has no spoon. The king says: The one who eats the soup should be a dog! (the dog in this case is present in the cursed sense). The shepherd then takes out his knife and cuts off the end of the bread. He scoops out the inside and scoops the soup with the fried skin. When everyone has eaten the soup, the shepherd also speaks: My king, let him be a dog who does not eat the spoon! And he eats the spoon. King Matthias laughed at the joke and gave the shepherd a reward. I think that mosque will be a synagogue. Both religions are sensitive to this, don't confuse the two places. I would like to note that the largest synagogue in Central Europe is located in the Jewish quarter of Budapest. In Hungary, the Muslim religion is found in traces, in contrast to Judaism. What to pay attention to when using public transport: Tickets must be validated on the vehicle, at the subway upon entry. If this does not happen, even if you have the ticket, it will be invalid. A journey lasts from take-off to landing. This does not apply to a pass.
