Lángos is originally a cheap beach food. Bread dough fried in hot oil, sour cream, cheese, and garlic pressed into oil. Everything else is just a tourist trap.

Do not do this. It has nothing to do with any beach food. This is typically Hungarian food. Or you have no idea what is hot. That's a joke. You don't even know sour cream. You don't have that.

It's not a cheap beach food, I make it quite often at home. Little heavy on the oil, but quite an easy dough. We usually only use garlic (crushed with boiling water and oil) and I love the sour-cream/cheese combo as well. Normally it is a heavy dish already and we don't use these overkill toppings, just keep it simple.

Lángos with all those weird topping. 🙈 Just 1 túrógombóc 🙈 With berries? Where did that come from? I'm glad you guys liked it, but next time don't go to Budapest. Go literally anywhere else in Hungary. Better still, stay in a family owned guesthouse where the grandma cooks for you. You will get a bowl of tútógombóc. 😁 I mean, if you go for the architecture and history, Budapest is a must-see, but keep in mind that it is for tourists and businesses (like any capital city), and the rest of the country is very different.
