@@Great_WesternTVFan They originally were basically 317s with 3 coaches as they had gangways, in 2005 they were refurbished and had the gangways taken off resulting in the 318s we have now. I do have fond memories of the 318s, 320s, 334s, etc as I grew up along the North Clyde Line at Dalreoch! Where I stay now we just get 158s, 170s and HSTs

I understand you mean. Class 317/6 (original was 317/2) has same shape with Class 318 and also Class 455/7 & /9 too. But Class 317/6 units are already scrapped. 455/7 & /9 (along /8) are still service for London Waterloo.

@@blackman-bp4tq the 317/2 batch to be exact (later renumbered into the 3176xx range), which differed from the earlier 317s in having larger window panes.
