@@zynostik5873 The movie is somewhat OK, but the ending is a cop-out. Although, given what we've seen in every Jason story since 2005, there's an argument to be made that the original UTRH is the mistake.
@zynostik58739 ай бұрын
@@rafaelmarkos4489 I'm not sure what you mean by that. I can only count on one hand how many times we've seen Jason Todd represented in film. But in terms of how Jason was later treated in the comics, sure. You may have an argument there. That being said, I still think the animated film did many things better than the comic, especially *with* the ending. They basically simplified all the complicated things that the comic did. It was better paced. Jason's revival was handled way better (As opposed to Superboy "punching reality" too hard). The ending scene where Batman throws the Batarang at Jason's gun in the film as opposed to slicing open his neck in the comics was more believable. Also, in the comics, Jason supposedly drops a bomb in Bludhaven where Nightwing operates, which takes away a bit of the relatability & understanding to Jason's character in the overall story (The movie thankfully didn't do this). Overall, the movie just had a much more streamlined & focused narrative rather than the comic. Personally, I don't think UTRH was a mistake at all. It was a great introduction & explanation for Jason's transition from Robin into Red Hood. And it's a different take from any of the Robin's we've been exposed too (other than arguably Damian later on). And don't misunderstand, there *are* good Jason Todd stories out there. He's just had a lot of duds that writers need to be smarter about when it comes to deciding what to do with him & how to implement him into their narrative & story. Either with Batman or on his own. Because in that regard, I do agree a lot of Jason story's lack there.

Best part: Sophie did exactly what I've said needed to be done to get everything done and left the same school diploma/merits/accreditations in hand/on record. Not saying "don't ask don't tell" was done this nonsensical way in real life,( compared to this sh1t show), but still, *one of the two caracters* did shut up and bear that week's time and got out of the same thing without problems. Sorry if it's too much of a rant, but it's like claiming you didn't know drinking before driving was a way to get in trouble and going through a screaming confession because a cop looked at you funny... She didn't discover it was problematic *after being caught* . She hid and stayed until caught, *then* made a fuss as if she wouldn't accept the rewards despite doing the same thing *if she wasn't so blatantly doing the same thing* . They NEVER provided any reason she'd be so against killing people in general. Like don't just kill every single criminal you come across, but she's EXTREMELY against killing anyone ever and they didn't give any reason for it. Batman has a reason for it, some pretty damn good ones too, and he passes this rule onto his partners, but Kate didn't get that. You know cause she just STOLE the bat suit instead of earning the mantle like everyone else. So, why would she care? If taking the criminal down for good is the best option at the moment, why wouldn't she just do that? Well, I don't think there needs to be a super strong reason. She wants to be a crime fighter, not a mass murderer... makes sense to me. However where this all falls apart *_instantly_* and *_hilariously_* is when Kate allows crazy mass murderers to run free and kill hundreds of people. Past episode 2 or so, every death caused by Alice is on Kate for not putting her behind bars. Why doesn't Kate put people behind bars? Something about the cops being fascist transphobes or something I guess. Sometimes, she just casually tortures criminals or beats them into a bloody pulp and then just allows them to go their merry ways. Keep in mind, this is after she announced she'd be better than Batman. It's a farce and whoever wrote this show is a legit sociopath, that treats people like brainless robots.

But, I think it's a coincidence. The "Theme" is just the ascending first 4 notes of a minor scale, it's an incredibly simple bit of music to write and I wouldn't be surprised if it's been done before by other composers. This show fails to realize that yeah, trained women can overpower men but it's not just "I punch him HARDER", there's technique to it. You don't just charge at a deer with a knife, you lure it into a trap with a blind and a gun.

Exactly, a well trained woman can hold her own against a man but only if she does it tactically she can never match up physically.
@viddykhaos28967 ай бұрын
And, that would ACTUALLY empower a woman. Seeing a female character overcome her physical shortcomings with tactics and smart play, would have the audience cheer for her efforts and success. Often times acknowledging the character’s natural or nurtured flaws and trying to grow to success is better than pretending flaws never exist.

Not all women... but I think MANY MANY women, especially the ones involved in these kinds of shows, do not understand what's so great about superhero stories. They see empowerment as being a badass, or taking revenge on men. Instead of embodying the virtues of a hero, or being inspiringly intelligent, brave or redemptive; they just see superhero stories as a way to say 'look at this woman, shes awesome, shes better than men, men are trash'. Most men enjoy superheroes because theyre strong, charming, intelligent, brave, morally good, a leader, a lot of the time they're funny too. Qualities that they themselves would like to improve. We like to see examples of greatness to show us how we can be great in similar ways. Who tf wants to be Batwoman? What traits does she have that little girls would like to emulate as they grow up? What are the virtues that women can take from this show to help them better live their lives? This new media push has not even begun to understand what real women want for themselves. Hence we get bullshit like this.
@LegacyComics1002 жыл бұрын
There’s a strange irony to all of this because there have been men who have written better female characters in media before, and they turn out better than what modern entertainment wants to “empower” ether by the people at CW, or something, or people that like to pull a Ryan Johnson. •XJ-9: created by Rob Renzetti •Hawkgirl: In the Justice League animated show directed by Dan Riba and Butch Lukic. •Ms.Marvel(Carol Danvers): When written by Brian Reed. There have woman creator and writers out there like Naoko Takeuchi, or others out there who have done better than CW, but I couldn’t find anyone that comes to mind, but they’re out there.

"In the first age, long before the creation of the great thinkers, there was simply three good friends bonding over picking apart other people's videos, and critiquing them. During these seemingly forgotten times, a wolf long gone uttered this phrase, reciting it from a now holy scripture kept within the sacred Vaults of Objectivety. To be kept safe during the Objectivety vs Subjectivety War and when the Culture War finally descended upon EFAP. The scripture was once recited as often as the simple greeting "hi Rags" yet it is not so well known today. So, in memorial, to all those that find this message, and gaze at it with your eyes, as though it were well constructed hit box, I utter a greeting to you my fellow scholars of the Old Massive Testament of Objectivety. The main actress is known has having an androgynous face, meaning she has slight masculine features, making her look slightly more like a man than another typical girl. And they even dress the hair and clothe her in typically masculine clothing to re-affirm this. But it's a girl-power show, full of messages about how a woman can also be powerful, it doesn't have to be a man, a woman can also be batman. So why on Earth was it so important for the creators to cast a woman that looks like a male? And dress her up like a male... isn't a man the opposite of what they are going for here?

So, potentially stupid question: what was Ned Flanders's motivation? Like, why did he kidnap Alice and treat her like shit, break her spirit and all that? Why did he treat Mouse the way he did? Just... why did he do any of this?
@xFlareLeon3 жыл бұрын
From what I gathered from JLongbone's reactions, he kept Mouse locked away to 'protect him' in a twisted sense, and kidnapped Alice so he'd have a friend. Now abusing her, cutting off her mom's head and sticking it in the fridge, I can't answer that.
@05-Overseer3 жыл бұрын
Well the head was for the Queen of Hearts or whatever, but the abuse I really dont know.
@Ceyx0002 жыл бұрын
Why kidnap Beth: easy to cover up, she's presumed dead. He wanted to break her down to manipulate/reinforce her new identity as "Alice". He was disgusted with Mouse. Flanders is a narcissist, Mouse was a reminder of Flander's limitations. Flander's is the best cosmetic surgeon in Gotham and cant "fix" his own son. Finding Beth & Kate's Mother's decapitated head was a "bonus". The Red Queen (psychopath, no character developement), knowing her son was a gifted surgeon wanted Mrs Kane's face.

That all still sounds really stupid. Am I allowed to think that's stupid? 'Cause that still sounds stupid.
@brendenmiles85642 жыл бұрын
Wait, I just realized: that explains how he was able to kidnap Beth but not why. Like, why take her if he just wanted the mother's face? What, did he want her to give Mouse a companion? Did he want to mold her into his, like, ideal child after "failing" with Mouse? I get that they probably just put this in so that the writers can explain why Alice So CrAzY, but there actually has to be a reason.
