100%👏👏👏. I'm exactly like Hawkeye in that i'm completely anti-authority. I'll take being being shown how to do somthing, but if somome pulls the whole "you must obey" card, then 9 x10 i'll either be a smartass, or rebel

@Songs Mirth I know that, Songs old kid. I did say that he was ONE of my childhood heroes; some of them who fell in love and got married. You don't know me, therefore you don't get to judge me. Even then, "Judge not lest ye be judged." Also, to respond to your first sentence, he was a doctor; he knew the importance of being careful.

1:50 Idk why but there’s something about Potter being serious telling Pierce to “Fire that weapon!” and Pierce makes another joke saying to the gun “You’re fired.” And that tone that Potter says “That was an order, Pierce.” He just sounded so resigned and confused at the same time. Idk why but I found it funny

My grandfather showed me mash when i was 7, and i instantly fell in love with the show, at first i loved it bc of the pranks and jokes, but as i got older and more mature, i came to appreciate how hawkeye and the crew had their more rouching moments, my favorite one was how charles defended private palmer, the kid who had a studdering problem and was called a dumby for it, and gave him his copy of moby dick, and then you realized it was personal for charles because when he listens to his sisters recorded message to him, she had a studder as well, it was one of my personal mash moments that were serious

Imagine this....the final episode of MASH....Hawkeye hugs BJ...gets on the chopper....we see the big "GOODBYE" BJ made out of the rocks.....the chopper lifts off....Hawkeye leans back in relief that the war is over and he can finally go home....then....words come across the screen seconds later saying "Hawkeye was killed when his chopper crashed 15 minutes later".....can you imagine the national shock/outrage/sadness that would have resulted to end the show that way?....what would people have done in reaction afterward in that pre social media age???

The clip isn’t here but always have liked the line from Hawkeye when MacArthur comes to visit and there all getting briefed on his arrival. He stands up toward the end... “Then it’s a agreed, will do a hysterectomy on Dr. Burns. “ That sequence always makes me laugh.

Alan Alda isn't known to be the most liked person in real life, though that's just what I've heard and seen on social media (I've never met him myself). Still, many people contend that he will not give autographs, and he can be rather snobbish at times in the real world. Once again, I've never met him, but merely repeating what others have posted about him on social media.

I watched, and loved, this show as a kid in the 70's. I'm sure a lot of it went over my head, especially any serious, dramatic moments. But when it started playing in syndication in my teens, I really glommed on to it and grew to love it. To this day, Alda's voice is one of my favorite sounds. How can you not like the man? It was a good show, some episodes far better than others. But that's the case with any TV show, drama, comedy or otherwise. It had more wins than most. The consistency was there. I never watched any of the post-Korea spinoffs (Aftermath or Trapper John, MD)...the regular show was enough.

You know what I realized, in this mash series. They let their actors age gracefully. Over the years Alan Alda collected his share of silver locks. You dont get that anymore, remember sitcoms luke Buffy vampire characters, Friends stars…they dye their hair keep them in their 20s as long as possible!
@jennifergreen6510
@jennifergreen6510 5 ай бұрын
Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn't a sitcom. Also, the human characters in the series were supposed to be young and then there's the whole issue of vampires never aging so obviously actors playing them would have to have things done in order to look the same.
