Oh dear, and I really am a fan of Ms Greer, but, laughing at a child that was not excessively fat was not funny. Having been one of those ‘fat’ people all of my long life, I am now well past Germaine’s age, I have also had to cope with abuse and public shaming mainly since the cult of judging people by their size and not their humanity has been in fashion. It gets obnoxious after a while Dearie, and can cause a lot of heartache whatever age the victim is. As an oldie (another greatly abused group) and a fatty there are some ‘comedians’ that I would like to trip up in a dark alley some night and sit on their whatnots for hours so that they can never more produce any nasty progeny.
