This is awesome - brings back memories. I went to Thailand 4 times and 2 of the occasions I did stay in Ao Nang. I did the exact 7-island tour in the afternoon as well with the fire show at the end when we got back to the pier. From Ao Nang, you could have done Phi Phi Island Tour which is closer to Ao Nang/Krabi than Phuket, and Hong Island Tour which is incredible. I did the Railey beach as a day trip but I went to nearby Tonsai beach in addition as well. Also did the Emerald Pool and Hot Springs. I think Tiger Cave Temple would have been challenging having to climb 1237 steps with aggressive monkeys and heat that you had to fend off and not ideal with two young kids too. Surprisingly I have never visited Chiang Mai but I am planning for one more Thailand trip which will include Chiang Mai.
@FindingSalas2 жыл бұрын
Wow, this sounds like some epic travels, what a beautiful life! ❤ The Tiger Cave Temple is a great suggestion too! We ended up skipping it mostly because of the heat, but also because we had the opportunity to visit many temples in the weeks before this in Chiang Mai. Maybe if only one of those was true, we would have gone. Hopefully in a future trip. 🙏 Wishing you the best of luck in Chiang Mai, it is a really wonderful city!!

I have seen more Buddhist temples in Japan too - especially in Kyoto.

@@brothersman524 haha yes, definitely warned. The monkeys are nothing to mess with, for sure. Chiang Mai has dozens and dozens of temples so you'll be spoiled there, but the most spiritually important (also also very beautiful) is Doi Suthep. If you make it a bit further north, the White Temple in Chiang Rai is something to behold. ❤️🙏
@brothersman5242 жыл бұрын
@@FindingSalas Yes I have seen videos of Chiang Mai and interested to go there and visit. Yes I have heard of Chiang Rai and Pai as well. I have not heard of Doi Suthep though. I do enjoy visiting religious sites like churches/cathedrals, temples, mosques and so on. On my 4 visits, I went to Bangkok, Phuket (which I didn't enjoy much), Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan (not to party though), Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Krabi/Railey/Ao Nang, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Lipe so yes for my final visit to Thailand I need to visit the north side of the country like Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. The 1237 steps at Tiger Cave Temple was a killer but I did manage it although it took me 45 minutes to reach the summit. I did climb almost 700 steps at Seven Wells Waterfalls in Langkawi (Malaysia), 500 steps at Ouzoud Waterfalls in Morocco and 300-odd steps at Batu Caves in Malaysia - and all of them had crazy monkeys that you had to deal with lol

great vids thank you for the efforts. I need to take a day boat tour to see "especially phi phi island" and the other beaches. What would be more more convenient for me to stay in krabi for a few days or phuket? btw I fell in love with krabi
@FindingSalas2 жыл бұрын
Hi Maher! Thanks for watching and for the nice comment here. We hope our videos are helpful! The good news is you have solid options here. You can travel to Phi Phi Island from Krabi in about 90 minutes or from Phuket in about 2 hours, each with at least a couple daily options. It's a little faster and less people on the speedboats, but that will cost a bit more. If you only have one day to spend on Phi Phi Island, it would be easiest to do an organized tour from Krabi. Especially if you get sea sick because it's an hour less (roundtrip) on the water. If you don't mind, where are you flying from? If internationally chances are you'll connect in Bangkok and you could actually do all 3 locations flying in and out of Bangkok and connecting to either of these locations. Especially via low-cost carriers like Air Asia making flights more accessible. You could fly into Krabi or Phuket - whichever has lowest airfare. Then ferry/boat across, see Phi Phi, and then continue on to the other. Ok maybe getting ahead of ourselves, but the sky is the limit! 😎 Let us know if you have other questions. Happy traveling!!

@@maher5905 hi again! ok coming from BKK you have so many options. Krabi is the easiest base, but if you are really set on seeing lots of Thailand, you could manage both -- or choose by whichever has the cheapest airfare. We did really like the Krabi area though so a humble plug there. And yes, we hear you on the seasickness!! You are in good company. We underestimated the waves here when we went on the 7-island tour (around 18:52), but now use both the Dramamine tablets and "sea bands": amzn.to/4eu8rNm That has helped a lot! Maybe you already have it figured out, but sharing that in case it helps. 🤭

Beautiful video. I'm planning to go Karbi on end November this year. Do you know what time is the last boat taxi from Railay to Ao Nang? As I would like to enjoy sunset in Railay but worry we couldn't catch the last boat if stayed until sunset.
@FindingSalas2 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching! ❤️ That is a great question. There is no fixed schedule between Krabi (Ao Nang pier) and Railay; boats leave as soon as there are 8 people on board. This can be every 10 minutes during the busiest time of day, and up to an hour or more between boats at night. The cost is 100 bhat per person each way. Boats between Railay and Ao Nang may run up until at least 11pm but they are infrequent after sunset. You can reliably plan on a boat until sunset though and probably won't be alone in your sunset viewing. But try to hop on a boat right after that. And here too, you will have to wait until there are at least 8 of you. After sunset there's less of a demand to get back to Ao Nang.

Hello! I loved this video! ❤️ I’ll go to Thailand in October 🤗 can you tell how much is the 7 island tour per adult? Also, did you bought in person, or can we buy it online?
@FindingSalas2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rita! Thanks for your lovely note! 🥰 The 7-island tour was through a company called Miriam, who you can book with in person in their office along the boardwalk in Ao Nang. Or online (as we did) through www.mythailandtours.com. Note this is the *sunset* tour in the afternoon, evening, and night -- not the regular tour during the morning and afternoon. The sunset tour was 725 Thai Bhat / 22 US Dollars / 21 Euros per adult and the tour was a full day by tour standards (around 8 hours). That is an incredible deal! The sunset tour is a little bit less money than the daytime tour too, and from what we understand has less people on the islands. Not sure if direct links work in KZbin comments, but this should be it: mythailandtours.com/shop/islands-tours/7-islands-sunset-tour-by-long-tail-boat-from-krabi/ We hope you have safe travels to Thailand. Please let us know if you have other questions. ❤✈

@FindingSalas2 жыл бұрын
Hi FERWA, thanks so much for watching and for all your kind comments! The good news is that you can find lots of accommodations within any budget in Krabi. We usually check Booking.com when looking for a hotel because the reviews seem to be most accurate. Looks like they already made a list of those on their site: www.booking.com/cheap/region/th/krabi.html?auth_success=1 Wherever you end up booking, read the location carefully because these "Krabi hotel searches" typically cover Krabi, Ao Nang, Ko Phi Phi, and Ko Lanta. The last two are islands, and definitely beautiful but you'll have to work a little bit harder to visit other parts of the region. However if you want to see a small set of beaches and mostly stay put/chill, this may be more appealing to you. Also note Krabi itself isn't on the beach, you'll need to go about 30 minutes over to Ao Nang. If you want to have the best combination of beach access and tour options to all four, Ao Nang will set you up well. Please let us know if you have other questions. Safe travels!

@@BBF03 hi and thank you for watching! The temperature and hours of daylight are very similar been February when this video was filmed and October. However October is the end of the rainy season so you may have more of that contend with. If you are scheduling any tours, we would recommend putting them earlier in your itinerary so you have backup/rain dates. Also, bring motion sickness if you're prone to that because you feel everything in the small boats. For the boat itself, we had shared boats and private boats (by chance). It mostly depended on how many people were interested in taking the same route and for how long the boat operator was willing to wait for others. You have the choice to wait and share if you don't mind and want to keep costs to minimum, or you can buy out the boat and be on your own schedule. Let us know if you have other questions. Safe travels! ✈️❤️

@@BBF03 oh and one other thing! We brought our own life jacket along for a similar aged child. We generally find in our travels they don't always have these on hand for infants or toddlers. That was no different here in Krabi, especially on the local longtail boats that will serve as your boat taxis. Tour operators might be able to help you out if you request in advance.
