Thanks so much Carl, that means a ton! It was really nice to get a more local vibe and side of Thailand in Krabi and yeah the entertainment went back and forth between Thai and western to play to all crows which was nice!

I’ve always heard great things about Railay Beach, and it’s awesome to see it in action. The night market, Emerald Pool, and Tiger Cave Temple all look like must-visit spots. Thanks for sharing your experience - it’s definitely making me excited to plan a trip to Krabi! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad

I started to go to Thailand in 1999 , yes it has changed alot.. Koh Tao had like 40 bungalows and no raods, Koh phi phi was the most beautiful place on earth before tsunami, krabi is krabi, hasent grown that MUCH, altho not like before.. but thats life.. I lived and had buisnewss at Koh Phayam for 6 years, i left 8 years ago when phone sand internet started to work, the type of tourism changed quickly, goin from can i look inside bungalow/what proce to DO YOU HAVE WIFI, the end for me.. Still the island is my favorite in Thailand.. If you ever go there, find Joy, think she calls in Joy homestay now at "longbeach" tell her Rob send you :) shes my ex but she is an angel walking on earth and she dosent even know it herself.. Thailand is sooooo beautiful i have no words for it, there are places for you "rel" travelers to go to and fot you tourists..... millions of places.. enjoy

@@robstratton6296 the government built telephone towers so for the last 2 years i was there both phones and internet started to work just like that.. Good in some way but bad in so many others.. Very quickly the "average joe" normies found out about this island who had been kept a secret for almost 30 years.. So the magic on Koh Phayam was gone and it was time to move, still very sad about it.. Mainstream tourism really destroys the best places.. I have ideas on where next move will be but i have to think it through , cuz i am getting older and want a homebace, a home where mainstream tourism never will come and thats not easy to find

I prefer Krabi way more than Phuket. It's low key and closer to the island excursions. Railay was perhaps my favorite beaches in Thailand. I did take an affinity for Bambo Island and didn't care at all for Phi Phi island, but lagoon was amazing. So was Maya Bay and unfortunately they rush you in-and-out. I don't visit Thailand for the beaches as I live in Florida, so I don't have that emphasis others might have. I prefer the mountains and scootering about the villages. On the other hand, I'm returning to Costa Rica this week specifically for her south Caribbean beaches and vibe as I found what's ideal for me. ..... As for Krabi, I stayed in the middle of Ao Nang on my first visit. Last April after Songkran in Chiang Mai, we stayed at a beach further north and enjoyed the tranquility.
@TravelInteresanteАй бұрын
Agreed! Krabi has so much to offer and it is so close to Phuket as well. Definitely loved the food market in Krabi so much ourselves. You are lucky with good weather and beautiful beaches in Florida and we would love to retire there as well ☺️ thanks for watching and sending much love!

i hear costa rica has the best beaches i intend to visit mexico costa rica peru and brazil next year it will be my first trip to south america does costa rica have the best vibe?
@siamiam43068 күн бұрын
@@chrisanderson1458 Well I found my finally vibe in Puerto Viejo. It's lay-back afrp Caribbean with six awesome beaches. Vibe is difficult to define. Thailand has great beaches and them limestones. CR has jungles fringing the waterline and wildlife fringing the waterline. I think it has better beaches than Thailand, but it's a matter of opinion. Take a look at La Fortuna and its hot spring offerings..Costa Rica is way more expensive than Thailand. I recommend a car rental which itakes a chunk of the travel budget. ..... After 20 years, I'm getting back to Peru and Brazil . Carnival in Bahia.
