Greatest ever blues player. It’s not even close. Laurie Daley led New South Wales in its most successful era. He was almost invariably their best player and he had the same impact on New South Wales rugby league that Wally Lewis had in Queensland.

@@YordkarYordkar I think you missed what I was saying. Johns is the best player ever from New South Wales. Johns was consistently good. Daley was the best player in blue every year. I consider lockyer to be the best player ever from Queensland but if we are just talking about origin performance it’s Wally Lewis.

@@SpookFilthyI rate Ricky the best blues halfback. As a Queenslander I gotta respect that Ricky Stuart stared down Wally Lewis and Allan langer at the same time and won. Sterling and Kenny couldn’t do it. Lamb, Lyons and Alexander couldn’t do it. Ricky did it with a different 5/8 in. Every game plus 4/5 origin series wins says it all.

I'm a green supporter. Years ago, I was working at dreamworld on the Goldie in White water world doing the breaks for the slidies. On the Blue ringed octopus, I was doing the first break and here's Daley with his daughter. I told her how to beat her dad and I told him how to go slower. She beat him easily and my poker face would have fooled anyone. Later on, in changing over to give a break to a slidie on a different 2 person tube ride, Laurie and his daughter pulled up to ride and this idiot says' you look just like Laurie Daley. ' I said ' because it is Laurie Daley. No go on break.' I then identified myself as a Canberra supporter and thanked him for our grand final wins. Nice fella. His daughter was very polite too. Nice family vibe I got
