I think I loved the younger them more then the adult them, ahaha. Which is weird, because they're technically the same people, only older, but...he had a very unfortunate ending as an adult, and when they were younger, they still had a chance. You know? And I HATE thinking about that ending. So. Yeah. But they were just generally the cutest things ever

EXACTLY! You explained exactly how I feel about the younger and older versions of these characters. Though I absolutely love sides of their love story, it's nice to be able to still root for the younger couple when you know exactly how their love story ends. Such a beautiful, heartwrecking story of love.

personally i loved the older couples love more. i think it was due to the fact that when they were older you could still see and feel that they hadn't moved on and it give us the impression that your first love will always be with you no matter what. great movie though, yet again

Saw the movie today on Netflix. Gotta say I agree. I thought the younger couple felt a lot more genuine and in love as opposed to the older couple. That being said I thought the movie was bad because of not only the older couple not being as great as the younger couple, actually I'd say the older couple was poorly executed. But the story was so bad, especially that ending.

I know that every Nicholas Sparks movie will have some ending with someone's death and a unapproved relationship and at the end of the movie, some quote about life and throughout the movie filled with cheesiest but cute love quotes and yet every time I still cry when someone dies and watch that movie about a fifty times and read the book about twenty times. That's the true power of Nicholas Sparks, his stories are so cliche but they pull you into them and compel us to watch and or read them.

Came across this movie on TV in 2020 and was absolutely taken back by it! Watched it several days in a row and cried like a baby every time! Absolutely love the young Dawson and Amanda...both of them just rip my heart out...not to mention that Luke Bracey is the hottest thing I've seen in years! Love James and Michelle...seen them in allot of movies but I think they should have tried aging Luke and Liana for the parts. The movie is amazing in all aspects emotion...I love it. Way to go Nicholas Sparks!

Luke Bracey is a wonderful actor and very handsome. I enjoyed this film but the actor they chose to play as the older version looked nothing like Bracey. His nose was bobbed and was so different from Bracey's aquiline nose.
