Saban's "in golf" comment is one of the greatest comebacks of all time.
@timcarter81711 ай бұрын
Coming here today on the day he retired, as a 44yr old Michigan alum and the last team to play him. I just want to leave this: Nick Saban is the only coach outside of Jim Harbaugh that I would ever hand my son over to and sleep well at night. Everyone can joke about his seriousness and his breakfast choices, etc, but what you better say is that this man not only truly cared about teaching young men how to be a good football player, he taught young men for decades of how to be a professional, a teammate, a son, a brother, a father, and most importantly how to be a man. They don’t build people like Nick Saban anymore, unfortunately, bc forget all the nattys, the clips, the things you see on tv-that man cared more about turning young men into men than any other coach in the last 40 years. He loved football, but more than that, he loved being able to develop young men into successful men. Cheers, Coach. You deserve everything you lived and breathed for. Toast to a great man.

That man taught one thing more than he taught anything else: Accountability. Accountability for yourself, for the man next to you, the man on the other side of you, for your parents, your kids, your friends and your teammates. He brought the best out of kids for decades by being steadfast in his approach that if you are accountable for your job and the man next to you did the same thing, you would be at your best. Believe me when I say this, as a man who HATED him when he was at MSU, to hating him for years for winning all the time: that man demanded his players give everything they had. I bet you could line up thousands of players who played under him and to a man they would all say that Nick bettered their lives. Last time I’ll say it, but Coach Saban-you inspired the game of football and inspired all of the young men you taught to be the best player, person, father, brother, son they could be. The football world will miss you immensely.

@timcarter817 *"That man taught one thing more than he taught anything else: Accountability."* What a crock of S! Signing an 8 year contract and then bailing after 2 because the going got tough is not being accountable.

Bailing on an 8 yr contract after 2 years sure sets a great example for all the recruits that signed with or committed to AL.

I love the group of people that bring up Coach leaving Miami. That’s the only thing negative that they can say about Nick Saban, mind you, if the general manager for the Miami Dolphins would’ve let Nick Saban get who he wanted in the draft he would’ve stayed at Miami, so I’m grateful as an Alabama fan for the GM of the dolphins, if Nick would’ve gotten Drew Brees, he would’ve stayed

Steve Spurrier quit in the middle of the season while at SC. How much different is it quitting on recruits that signed with university knowing Saban was less than 2 years into an 8 yr contract? Exactly. None.
